RE: Describe the United S

shortmanx, I realise as an american your pride will not let you accept that america wasnt the be all and end all of world war 2 or 1 for that matter......

but they were getting their ASSES kicked by the russians, it's really beyound arguement, it's a fact, the winter was a large factor, but the bigger factor were the numbers of 100 to 1 that the germans faced, god by sheer numbers alone they could have faced the germans with their bare hands and still beat em.....never watch Stargate Atlantis?....it was a Wraith-like situation...there were too many of em...6 million russians died and they STILL had overwhelming numbers

and as for a european russia, look what happened to the land that they did take, they lost it in the end, simply put, if germany beat great britain, war on america would be perfectly plausable, strait job of sending a stealth wing with an experimental A-bomb to blow up new york, create a pincer-like effect with the facsists to the south and the british empire to the north....u'd have been screwed.

luckily it never got that far.....luky for the US anyway

i never said we had a lot of the buren in wwi, we only fought for only like 2 years. if you think that germany could get there troops across the ocean without be sunk you are nuts. thats why poeple didnt want to join the war because they figured it would never get across the oceans. luckily it never got that far.....luky for the US anyway it never got that far because of the usa

who caused russia to lose all their land. it could have been the billions the usa spend of defense that the russians couldnt keep up with.

i just dont get why people hate the usa so much that you are willing to outright lie about history and and act like the russian were the savors of the war. u forget that the usa and the brits didnt trust russia. a lot of the decsions made by the usa and britian were made to show the russians not 2 screw with us. thats one reason we dropped the bomb it was to show the russians how powerful america really was.

RE: Describe the United S

yeah....sorry I'm in bit of shock at the 23 million the russian lost....jesus.......and they STILL!!....kicked ass.

I'm sorry that figure has convinced me, there was no stopping russia once the tides were turned and that coincided with the germans being beaten in the battle of britain, the germans were very much on the run before the US formally entered ww2

the only reason they had so many deaths if because they dsidnt care about the people, it not like they all died fighting. they were slaughtered i wouldnt exactly call that good.Russia won cuz they just kept throwing men and shitty tanks at the germans

RE: Describe the United S

nah the tide had turned as soon as barbarossa was put into effect, it was a causal effect model....

I am also not lying simply to exclude the US because I dislike the country in anyway, I'm just stating, after 50 odd years of puting up with this "we won the war for you" rubbish...which really does feel belittling, honest it's more hurtful than my suggestions...I'm just suggesting...given new figures, diary memo's and facts from the time, for a change.

And it's funny you should mention not trusting russia....oh yes, we didnt trust russia one bit, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend.....but did you know FDR had the misguided belief that it was Britain who should be watched because he thought we had our eye on the balkans.....and here's the funny bit, he thought old unlce joe only wanted the land he had and wouldnt ask for any more?...this was from his diary at the meeting at yalta.

seriously though Russia was only on the run at all because stalin didnt believe hitler would turn on him.....he started turning it when he came to his scences

you can say what ever you want, but that doesnt change what the majority of people think. That without the usa the war would have been lost. i remember hearing about how the us didnt trust britian at first, but at the start of wwi , england didnt trust the usa

but at the end of wwII the brits wouldnt have tried to piss off the usa by taking the balkans. by the end of the war ehgland realized it wasnt a big dog anymore. Come on man englands an island you could only hold out for so long.

RE: Describe the United S

I dont think either of us (the US or UK) have ever truely trusted one another.

Nope, britain most certainly didnt trust the US....but you wont find many ppl in the UK backing up that claim that america won the war for us...that view is pretty much a US one...but hey were brothers, fighting side by side for global liberty lets all....get along lol

RE: Describe the United S

nope, ww1 finished that off for us, we morgaged our empire off for our very suvival....the thing that gauls is that the US sat there like a bird of prey waiting for the scraps...influence in australasia, influence in africa asia and bases in the uk.

no, we realised the colonial days were up after ww1....but we tried to keep it together for the very reason that happened....we had no real quams disbanding it after ww2, we tired and worn out, plus how many global powers have been created from the former british empire eh?

nope, it's like a mens club now, the commonwealth of nations
