RE: Describe the United S

UncleP the above letter underlines the problem most of the world has with America and the problem with America, not one of the points made by the author are true, not one of them is real. The letter is the illusion that many Americans have of thier own country.

1; you can never leave Iraq
2; on a per capita basis, you are the least generous of the developed nations with respect to forign aid.
3; your own corrupt government will never address the social problems at home.
4; some day you will play a fair part in the UN weather
you like it or not.
5; you have empowered and supported more corrupt third world governments than any other nation at any other time.
6; the Us pays no attention to NAFTA regulations already
7; there is enough oil in Alaska to fuel The US for only a year or two, not for decades.
8; for a century you,ve been rapeing pillageing and murdering arround the world,

The author of your letter is that stupid arrogant American who hears and sees the planets hate of America
and can,t or won,t try to understand why, it condemns you all to the future you deserve, the letter mentions isolationism, the things Americans have been isolated from are reality, honesty, fairness, decency, democracy and most importantly the truth about America.

We most certainly can and most certainly will, as we have done in every other instance before Iraq.

darkbeaver said:
2; on a per capita basis, you are the least generous of the developed nations with respect to forign aid.

Bullshit, the problem with you and others who say that fail to take into account donations from Americans and corporations directly. You use a frame of reference the OECD numbers which only use government aid.

darkbeaver said:
3; your own corrupt government will never address the social problems at home.

Ah but they will, and they are. Once we rid the world of the fringe socialist element and make the likes of you squirm, we'll be set.

darkbeaver said:
4; some day you will play a fair part in the UN weather you like it or not.

And the UN plays fair? Bwhahahahaha! Ahahahaha! Ha!

darkbeaver said:
5; you have empowered and supported more corrupt third world governments than any other nation at any other time.

Aren't you happy it was us that stopped the cesspool of socialism than the other way around?

darkbeaver said:
6; the Us pays no attention to NAFTA regulations already

Correction, Bush doesn't pay attention to it, and is making us look like assholes.

darkbeaver said:
7; there is enough oil in Alaska to fuel The US for only a year or two, not for decades.

In 20 to 25 years it's not going to matter, it's only a matter of time before new technologies kick in.

darkbeaver said:
8; for a century you,ve been rapeing pillageing and murdering arround the world,

Not exactly, we have been preventing the socialist nightmare from spreading all over the world and permit the likes of you to question every move we make. Isn't democracy grand?

The rest of your post is the usual tripe. Carry on :D

Are you actually writing that the U.S. would be in favor of hanging when an act was perpetrated against one of their own in a foreign country?

I think if you look at the terrorist acts which have been perpetrated against the people of the U.S. over the past thirty years for instance - in Lebanon, Lockerbie, Munich, New York, Kenya, etc. etc., there have been no "hangings" by the U.S. government or its law enforcement.

Even Hussein is being tried by his own country in a court of law.

I believe most Americans would prefer binLaden meet Allah from military gunfire because they would have to deal with him legally if he is captured alive.

Here is the most complete list I have knowledge of concerning terrorist acts against Americans:
http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/13059

I don't want to see your list, and furthermore, I DON'T care for this type of argument. Don't you understand that I am simply saying that Jordan has a right to tend to its legalities in its own way?

You don't have a lifetime of experience in America on which to build any type of credible belief on this matter

I am so delighted that you live thousands of miles away. In fact, if you could move about 1,000 miles further north, that would be even nicer. Remember, you are on list #2.

You owe the US the same courtesy of not treating us like sh*t, that we give to you. We do not call you names, we do not criticize you, we don't harm you, and frankly we don't even think of you. That is the courtesy you owe us at the minimum.

If you represent Canada, then Canada is coming across like an obnoxious child who throws foods, destroys toys, screams nothings all the time, and who can't get along with other children.
Grow up!

Bugger off. And jump back while you're at it.

Hmm, but that's two sentences. If this is your one-sentence description of the United States, shouldn't it read 'Bugger off, and jump back while you're at it.'

C'mon, you feisty ones, fight it out somewhere else. May I suggest a table for two (or three or four) at our lovely Wreck Beach Bombs Away Seaside Restaurant? Bring your own bottle, we supply the brown paper sack. Beans are on, add your own maple syrup if desired.

Thank you, and yes, large tips for the Maitre d'Wrecked are accepted both here and at the door.

Well I hope I am going to be able to respond to Uncle Percy knowing we are way off topic...and I should have limited my response to one sentence.

Perhaps I misread your e-mail and the quote about the hanging of two people in Jordan. I thought I asked my question with respect. I am not certain how a person should ask a question....and you return that I don't understand, that Jordan has a right, and I don't have a lifetime of experience in America.

As I understand matters, the U.S. would not condone what Jordan chose to do (as was their right), but the U.S. was not consulted or we would have heard it immediately from the press here.

Perhaps I don't have as many years on me as no doubt I will have some day - not my fault - see my parents for that oversight - however I have been in the US for nineteen years. How long do you think a person should take to understand a country??? I was in the U.S. for the first Gulf War and thereafter. Many of the issues being discussed here on this forum have occurred while I have been in residence here.

Finally, my apologies for ruffling your feathers, and spoiling your fun.... it isn't much fun being told off for a question either Uncle and my list was to demonstrate the U.S. has not hanged anyone for atrocities committed against their people that to my knowledge have occured in the last thirty years.

My apologies to the administrators.

Sure, this thread has run a bit amok, but no worries, Wednesday, and no apologies needed.

If the discussion veers off, as it has done, then let it veer as mightily as it wants to veer. Just let it veer slowly back to one-sentence descriptions of the good ole U.S. of A. after a bit.

Veer on, McDuff.
