Given the way most of the press operates in the US, had there been sufficient evidence of collusion, half of Washington would have been charged by now.
Another tempest in a teapot, and Trudeau's handlers are loving it. The US press stories about Trump are taking most of the heat off Trudeau.
Think of it. Trump's being accused of all sorts of nasty things, collusion, spying. Working with the Russians, etc.

There is no evidence of GOP trying to shut Mueller down as there is no evidence of Trump Russian collusion. If Trump wanted to shut Mueller down he would.
