Ontario considers itself to be the linchpin of Canada, and it is not about to join any foreign country, not now, not ever. And it has sufficient population to go it alone, to make a success of it by itself. There are many nations in the world with a population of less than 10 million.

It is true that an independent Ontario may have very little influence internationally, but financially it can still remain a rich country.
Yeah, the RoC is quite aware of what ON thinks of itself .................................................. and laughs at it.
Where would ON be without the RoC? Does it have its own oil? Its own ports to the Asian Pacific? It's own grain?

I think that quite a few other provinces would be a lot more well off without ON than ON would be without the other provinces. lol

Yes to all.
Indirect access to Asian Pacific. If BC told ON to stuff it, ON would have to take the scenic route to trade with Asia.
How much oil reserve does ON have of its own?
Can ON feed itself without help from the other provs?
Like I said, I think that quite a few other provinces would be a lot more well off without ON than ON would be without the other provinces.

Ah yes, the ignorant ranting to the demented, and all of them actually believing everything that they spew out

Executive orders do not control the USA. They can easily be overridden by Congress, by the Courts, or by any succeeding President.

But of course, most Canadians do not truly know how the US government actually works. They think that THEIR bastardized version of Parliamentary Government is the "Holy Grail" of political life.

How corrupt is the Canadian Senate? Why are the people not allowed to vote for your Senators? They have enormous influence, can stop any legislation, and they are seated effectively for life. They are nothing but a Canadian version of the OLD House of Lords. A reward for slavishly following the leadership of your party, and never, ever thinking for yourself.

You have a system where a political party loses an election, and immediately conspires with the other losing parties to attempt to bring down the winning party and thwart the will of the people. The only problem was, they were CAUGHT at it, before they could get their act together.

Yet you dare to denigrate the American political system?

Keep in mind that Canada's political system was set up by those that LOST the American Revolution. They wanted to make their system so British that it could never be modified to any real extent. They were so upset about those terrible Americans that they locked in a system where the privledged would always BE IN CONTROL of the government.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of the Loyalists (and I have many Loyalist ancestors, so I do know what I am talking about) were people who's income depended upon the American Colonies remaining under Great Britain. Their income depended on the Crown, and they were not about to go against their financial interests.

They saw the rebels as being uncouth, unlettered (a BIG mistake) and essentially a rabble. They took those attitudes with them when they were exiled to Canada. They had lost their cushy positions, their lovely homes, and were forced to scrabble out a living as pioneers. They deeply resented those Americans, and they passed on those attitudes to their descendants.

Sadly, far too many Canadians refuse to look beyond the stereotypes that they have learned. They "know what they know and do not want to be confused with any facts".

NAFTA was agreed and signed by all parties, not just the u.s., and no one was forced into anything.
Forced? Was there a choice? How do you like the part that says a US company can sue the Canadian govt for propping up a Canadian businees or giving contracts exclusivly to Canadians?

But I bet you agreed to that right?

I had no say, (didn't agree or disagree to anything),but all canadians with the negotiating rights did, the ones
more sorry about signing into NAFTA right now are the u.s.
