Childcare is the same as schooling or healthcare or roads: all of society benefits from having good roads, even individuals who do not drive; everyone benefits from living in a society where people are educated and healthy, and everyone benefits from living in a society where children are properly supervised and cared for rather than being left to fend for themselves on the streets, and where parents can do their jobs with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their children are being looked after without it costing the major part of their income FROM that job.

Its a big jump to go from your broad statements above to supporting exclusively a state-run childcare program. It should be up to parents to choose the childcare situation that works for them, and it is up to parents to determine what is the 'best care' for their own children.

There you have it, Canadian parents. God forbid that you be allowed to spend your own money..........you drunken popcorn freaks you.
AND it turns out the Liberal plan provides just under $30 per child per week.........to be mostly chewed up in bureaucracy and politically correct training, while the Harper plan puts money in the parents' pockets.
Who would do the most good?
Sweden, according to the Conservative on Question Period, just dropped the national daycare system because of expense and inefficientcy, and went to the direct grant to parents route.

They could, and many would. Why not? $4.00 a day isn't enough to spend on childcare, but $25.00 a week will buy a dozen beer with a little left over for popcorn.
By the way, Reid is no more an elitist than the media representatives (and there have been several in the last few months) for the Conservative Party.
The rest of your post is paranoid spin usually only heard from the likes of David Koresh followers.

I find that anyone who uses the term "elitist" has no point to make. Usually, it's used by someone who doesn't believe that smarter kids should get extra education.
I don't know what you're trying to say Colpy, because you are using pointless words. God knows what your point is. I think the word "elitist" should be banned.
