You two bozos must live in a black and white universe. Logging roads are public access (number 0ne).

A logger once said to me, I bet that woman in New Denver (Colleen McRory) who hates logging, lives in a house made of 2X4s. I said, Colleen doesn't hate logging, she is against stupidity. I have nothing against logging or loggers. But their methods are not sustainable or logical. But the rapers and pillagers can't see the forest for the dollar signs.

Now that all depends on where you are. Many logging roads are private even though the logging company may chose to let the public use them.
Actually clear cutting is both sustainable and the most logical way to log the vast majority of old growth timber. But only people that work would understand that.

You think you are the only one who has ever worked. Try living in the forest without any income whatsoever. You think you understand forests? Try living in one for 10 years without harming the environment, without taking more than you give back. Can you walk in the forest and sit peacefully with a bear and share a fishing hole with one or pet a deer in the wild? Could you have such an intimate relationship with wild life that they bring their young to you every summer to show how proud they are of their offspring?

You think you know anything about forests besides how to destroy them? You know nothing about forests, You know nothing about life and all of it is interdependent and interconnected with every other life form. Destroying a forest is not just cutting down trees. It is killing billions of life forms from microscopic to the largest of trees and mammals. Clear cutting is the most ignorant, stupid and greedy way to slaughter hundreds, if not thousands of life forms. Every thing has a consequence. Everything killed in the web of life kills a little of it killer.

Everything about this culture depends on the destruction of the environment (our life support system) and thousands of species, including other humans in third world countries, that were intended to share this planet with us. We are supposed to be stewards of this planet not consumers of it. We are like a cancer eating our host. We think it is our right to destroy and consume while 80% of the world population lives on 1/10% or less than we do. Manifest destiny. It is god's will. Well, the day of reckoning has already started and the Earth will not put up with our greed and indifference any longer.

We may have once been the dominant species on this planet, but no longer. Just look at all the cancer, respiratory diseases, diabetes, and other environmentally induced scourges that are befalling humanity because of our own stupidity. Nobody or nothing is going to save us from what we have done and continue to do to our planet. We phuked up big time. Time to pay the piper.

Cancer, diabetes, respiratory diseases not only affect humans but animals as well.

My first job was logging in 1978,clearcutting and selective and I can go back now to the blocks we logged and clearcut was definately the worse of the 2 evils.when you wipe out a whole block of trees a different species will take over, with selective the native trees will keep going though, clear cutting is not very environmentally friendly.

I spent a large amount of my life in wilderness and of course appreciated it hugely as well as in perspective.
I very much enjoyed the final chapter of the guy who liked to "sit peacefully with bears". I think his girlfriend changed her mind at the last instant.
Those who use a computer to proselytize really should use smoke signals but only when it is raining.
