Getting the job done is more important than observing safety procedures it would appear for these workers

A particularly amusing photo shows a man dangling dangerously from a staircase in order to pin up a sign reading 'Think Safety First!'

Some of the photos inspire fear - namely a man smoking a cigarette by a sign reading 'Danger flammable gas'

A man precariously uses two ladders to reach a tricky branch while on the right a pallet of bricks are propped up using a single column of bricks

In a bid to protect his eyes while using a power tool a man swaps safety specs for a clear plastic bucket over his head

A flimsy chair is sued to prop a car on its side while a man looks at the underneath of the car

A man climbs over an air condoning unit to fix it, leaving his whole weight on the apparatus while a woman fixes a sign while a man holds a ladder

A man decides using a cherry picker is not an option and climbs a pole to fix some wiring

Workers are seen dangling down a manhole with only their co-workers holding on to their jeans for support

A man who is working on a window from the outside is held secure by his co-worker attaching a rope to his belt and holding on to it

Police say they found Coots at his home with an apparent snakebite to his hand. Officials say EMS responders explained the dangers of not treating the wound, but that Coots still refused to be transferred.
Police and EMS returned to the scene an hour later to find Coots dead.
I wonder what possessed him?
Sorry, I just had to.

Two elk hunters have been charged in connection to a bizarre crash that killed a Hotchkiss motorcyclist last year.

The two hunters, 47-yearold Mark Valdez, of Delta, and 43-year-old Kevin Keener, of Fountain, are accused of killing 34-year-old Trevor Rawson.

Troopers allege the hunters unintentionally killed the motorcyclist as they attempted to drag an elk across a rural Montrose County highway on October 12, 2013.

Troopers say the men attempted to retrieve an elk, which they shot earlier in the day, from a hillside near Highway 92. With the pickup on one side of the highway and the elk on the other, the men allegedly stretched a chain and rope across both lanes and shoulders of the highway. Attaching the chain and rope to the elk, they began to drag it toward the road.

At approximately 6 p.m., Rawson was traveling westbound on his motorcycle on Highway 92, approaching the two men and the elk. He collided with the chain and rope, which were stretched tightly across the road at chest height. The collision threw Rawson from his motorcycle, knocking off his helmet and causing fatal injuries. Rawson died at the scene.

Troopers say the men failed to render aid, did not call 911 at any time, and attempted to persuade a teenage witness to assist in covering up their involvement.

The two men were charged with failing to render aid, vehicular homicide, manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide among other things.

A criminal background check done by 9NEWS revealed Valdez has been in trouble with police before. He has three DUIs on his record.

A criminal background check on Keener shows three DUIs, as well as arrests for domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance.

The Darwin Awards are for when you take YOURSELF out of the gene pool through sheer stupidity, not when you kill someone else.

I agree. The only one killed in that instance was an innocent victim. If one of the idiots that thought up the genius plan had died, then it would be considered a Darwinian death.

Truck Drives Into River, Driver Blames GPS

People near Homets Ferry heard the man screaming for help early Thursday morning.

When the rescue crew found him. He told them about the GPS issue.

People who live near the river said they don’t get it.

Residents said there used to be a ferry in the area, but that’s long gone.

“It’s not been here for years and years. It’s quite obvious when you get there that there’s no ferry you can drive across,” said Ronald Davenport from Wylausing Township.

But it’s actually the second time it’s happened this year!

The fire chief in Laceyville says another driver had a similar GPS problem in January, but he was able to get off the river since it was iced over at the time.

Even so, vehicles in the river are not something they’re used to dealing with.

“Yeah, we don’t see that too much up in this area,” said Fassett.

The driver found eight hours later near river bank. He was treated at Memorial Hospital in Towanda for hypothermia-like symptoms.
As for the vehicle, it’s still in the water and authorities said they’re not sure when it will be retrieved.

There is a reasonable explanation for most of these photos. The one I mention should have the anchor rope tied to his wrist rather than just holding it, that will also induce incentive to make sure you are firmly planted.

Did you see the size of the arms on the guy holding the sewer driver, even in he lost his balance he is too big to fit the manhole opening.

The 'think safety' balancing act was just that, an act.
