The Trudeau Government has announced that it will pull Canadian planes from the existing ISIL bombing campaign.
We will instead increase our “boots on the ground” military advisors.

The Official Opposition of Canada has asked to debate this decision with the ruling Trudeau Liberal Party as well as allowing input from Canadian experts, advisors and Foreign Service specialists as well as the general public.

The Trudeau Liberals appear to be ready to ram this decision through without any consultation at all, even with our allies and closest trading partners.

Justin Trudeau ran on a platform of listening to all Canadians as well as openness, consultation and free debate in Government. Does this military decision indicate that the Trudeau Government is more, less or about the same in its willingness to listen to the Official Opposition and Canadians in general as the previous Harper Conservative Government?

It is about standing up shoulder to shoulder with your friends and allies and doing what you can.
It's also about the timing of Cut and Running on one of your allies when they are knee deep in the blood of their innocent citizens .

We'll see when parliament resumes next month and what affect if any it has on what he plans to do. He did run on ending the bombing campaign and now he is doing it. Fine by me. Our six fighters were a token gesture at best. A year and a half of bombing by various countries doesnt seem to have done anything so why continue something that isnt effective?

Also Id hardly call putting more troops on the ground "cutting and running."

Then there is the problem of some of them deserting and joining the other side. I dont know what its like in Iraq and Syria but it was a common problem for our people in Afghanistan.
