Over the years I have heard from our politicians and I quote from many speeches over the decades.

"This great land of opportunity for all and great freedoms is envied around the world for the freedoms , great wealth and diversity. That is all under attack by {insert any parties name}.
Now more than ever we need a government who will commit to the people of this great land by protecting our freedoms , by not stifling the population with a heavy tax burden and by creating individual wealth and prosperity for Canadians in job creation and security.
We believe that taxes are to heavy and it threatens jobs for Canadians and weakens our economic sector as a whole so to loosen corporate taxes is to provide job security for all Canadians now and in the future.
To those who would attack this , is attacking our way of life here in Canada . Our infrastructure is the best in the world as is our care of our citizens both in health and individual peace and security. We plan to make sure that this is protected now and in the future to make this country more secure and stronger so we can move ahead to meet the challenges of the coming decades with pride that is Canadian made and Canadian tradition."

We have all heard this in some form or other and it is called brain washing and a lie.
This is an excuse to not improve and cover major future short falls in policy along with putting anyone who questions the status quo as radicals.
This country could be great I agree but as it stands that will be for a select few who are connected in some form.
My case in point is our crown land. Not the only point but one that would give us the freedom of owning our own country.
Ever tried to purchase crown land and by purchase I mean own it not lease it.
Ever looked into who gets crown land ?
I have tried over the last 6 years to purchase crown land here in BC and it has been an education and that being a tax payer and proud Canadian means nothing.

In 2000 I lived in Alaska and purchased state land there and the meaning of rights are way different than here and in the rest of Canada. Here is the link to the Alaska website along with citizen rights under the state constitution which actually protects state residents unlike here.

Alaska Land Offerings

Would like to hear others opinions on this or any ideas as to change.

Fist off, I don't believe there is crown land in BC. One of the stipulations of entry into Canadian confederacy was that land claims were to be settled. BC did not meet that requirement and so BC is not a legal province or part of the confederacy. Second, without treaties, BC does not have a right to claim ownership of the land nor does the crown. The government can make all the laws they want but as far as I'm concerned, they have no jurisdiction to do so. Without treaties, who gave the crown the right to issue fee simple title to any land in BC?

In fact I squatted on unowned land in BC during the 70s and 80s. When one government bureaucrat made his mission to rid the area of squatters, I got rid of him using the above logic.

Crown land isn't for sale.

Resource/mining/forestry companies buy access to the resources on Crown land, but never own it outright

In Ontario, Crown Land is land that is owned in common by the people of Ontario. You can hunt on it, fish on it, camp on it, berry-pick on it, basically do anything (within other, common laws and regulations) but occupy a spot on it for more than two weeks.

The exception, started some time in the 90's I think, was that a few areas of Crown Land in Northern Ontario have been set aside for the tourist industry, in the form of fly-in fishing lodges and outpost camps.

And start a fire-remember your Fire Permit and God Help you if you don't have one.

Canadians often forget that, for all intents and purposes, the Queen owns the land which makes up Canada. She owns the land of all the sixteen nations of which she reigns over. She's by far the world's biggest landowner.

The Queen does not own the land. The single largest land owner is probably the Catholic Church with land holdings in the majority of countries in the world..

Probably? What do they own?
"roughly 177 million more acreage of various lands owned by the Catholic Church throughout the globe, including the hundreds of Vatican embassies that are legally titled to The Holy See as an independent nation."
