Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Those orientals must all look the same , eh ?
One of the funniest bits in the TV show "King of the Hill" has the title character, Hank Hill of Texas, talking to his Laotian immigrant neighbor.

Hank: So. . . y'all Chinese or Japanese?

Neighbor: I'm Lao. (goes on a long rant about how Laos is a separate country with 7000 years of history and culture completely different from China or Japan).

Hank: (long pause) So. . . y'all Chinese or Japanese?

It encapsulated the fact that, for Hank, recognizing that there is more than one Asian culture was a step forward. Recognizing that there are more than two is a further step for another day.

I understand President Game Show Host is advising people to inject disinfectant.
I hope that is fake news, but nothing would surprise me.
BTW do not inject disinfectant. Let a trained custodian do that for you.
Yeah, the maker of Lysol felt the need to release a statement saying "Do not under any circumstances introduce Lysol products into your body by injection, ingestion, or any other method."

I can't believe that we live in a world where this even has to be said. Welcome to Trumplandia.

MAGA!

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Can you sue your president for things he says while in office?
I doubt you'd succeed. The theory I'd go on if I was on this would be to argue that Donny Dumbass's comments created a hazard and that the chemical companies had a duty warn customers not to enjoy a nice Clorox and Lysol cocktail.

Then I'd go for a settlement to make me go away.

Fortunately, I've been able to avoid that kind of ambulance chasing in my career. I consider it "barratry," defined as "the fomenting of needless litigation."

The British treated all they considered savages the same world wide , including the Irish . Why would you be special ? What happened in the past is just that the past , we must move on and improve the present and future . Holding grudges helps nothing , repeating mistakes is also counter productive . IMHO .

The Irish WERE British. Between 1801 and 1922 - when most of Ireland broke away except the northern bit - the whole of Ireland was part of the United Kingdom.

And the Irish did a good job in helping to run the British Empire. The British Empire was very much their empire, too.

I'm not fond of Britain. I consider their conduct around the world, and with the Shawnee in particular, to have been pretty lousy. And my maternal grandfather was Irish.

The British Empire was the most benign empire in the history of the world and without it there would be no United States.

Actually, France and Spain would have had no problem filling the gap that Britain would have left

Two minutes in and I'm already on the front foot.

Not difficult, though, dealing with historical ignoramuses.

When Americans celebrate Independence Day, what country do they celebrate getting their independence from?
