Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

They both worked in the US and one works in Sweden currently.
No, we all go to the same place.
My in laws live in South River Ont and they have no issues. My father in law had double knee replacement surgery and a nurse came to his cottage every day at no cost to him.
You just happened to be talking with someone in Sweden and taking notes?

A nurse did surgery in his cottage?

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Perspective always makes for an interesting analysis.
Death rate for influenza and pneumonia in Canada from 2000 to 2017 (per 100,000 population)
https://www.statista.com/statistics/434445/death-rate-for-influenza-and-pneumonia-in-canada/
The results should make any rational person really think carefully about our current situation
Nobody has immunity to this, flus we do and have vaccines.

The entire world getting sick at once so fast is unprecedented.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

I hear ya and am not arguing of the danger and risk with covid-19 - however, perspective is heavily lacking in this current event.
Take a read of these stats from the CDC on US stats (relatively recent, Sept 2018...).
https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/26/health/flu-deaths-2017--2018-cdc-bn/index.html
80,000 is a drop in the bucket. We have no problem treating the flu or keeping out of the health worker community with mandatory flu shots. The infrastructure can handle it.

By this Christmas this year CV19 will be in flu shots.

It's never going away, it will be mitigated and treated like any other flu after the peak.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

even Americans think our medical system is better. Everyone has coverage while not everyone can even afford coverage in the US.
Interesting that YOU think the system is a joke.........when there are so many countries where the situation is bloody dire.
could be improved?? of course it can.
Why don’t US citizens come to Canada for healthcare? Thousands of Canadians go to the US for healthcare.

We dont have the specialized treatment or it's not covered by Provincial without begging for a year or two.

X-mas? That's optimistic and I hope you are correct.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Not sure. Your argument is ours is better because of dense population in the states but they have several areas as sparsely populated as us and we have places with a high density populace. We agree that the most cases and deaths are in the densely populated areas.

I'm just saying we are doing better in those areas.
Once again, US population density; 94 people/sq mile. Canada population density; 11 people/sq mile.

Meanwhile, the Greater L.A. area has a population density of over 7000 people/sq mile while the GTA is at 850/sq mile.

In the US, the place with the highest population density is a town called Guttenburg in New Jersey with just 11,000 people at 22,000/ km2.
While Vancouver has Canada's highest population density (5500/km2), for size comparison we'll use Canada's second highest which is Westmount, QC with 20,000 people and a density of 5,000/km2.

The fact is, except in the middle of nowhere parts of both countries, US cities and towns tend to be more crowded than Canadian ones. And as such, will likely see a faster and higher transmission rate.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Where was the diagnostics, surgery and physio done? What was the wait time?

Toronto and the Physio was done at home but he didn't do half of it. Stubborn, he was messing around on his tractor within a month. I'm not sure of the wait time but it wasn't life threatening and he could still work.

I had shoulder surgery two years ago almost to the month. Tore my rotator in January had an MRI within three weeks and had surgery in April, also did ten months of physio. It sucked.

Direct out of pocket cost - zero other than some parking fees.

Once again I was talking about the rate of death per cases.
