The drugs don't help. They just make you stupid. This I know a bit about.

Mostly the chemical imbalance can be cured through diet. Some with herbs. The drugs they like to give out have serious negative side effects.

Diabetes also isn't a mental disorder. And yes lifestyle, particularly diet has a huge influence.

My nephew, a serious type 1 diabetic has been kept alive with drugs for 30 years. Brother very nearly lost him when he was 8 years old.

I've personally known at least two people with bi polar who went completely bat shit crazy when they went OFF their medication. You'd never guess there was anything wrong with them while they were ON their medication.
