There is only one direction....One thousand down, 5.7 Million cases to go in BC.Are things starting to move in the right direction or is it too early to get our hopes up?
Cautious optimism only - emphasis on the cautious. ;-)Are things starting to move in the right direction or is it too early to get our hopes up?

BTW: How is Vernon doing?? We are still fluctuating on the lower mainland.
That is so true.We are being very cautious here, although I don't think the numbers are all that great, but we've already seen how quickly things can change if we let our guard down. Better to err on the side of caution.
Hope you are wrong.........but what you say is a distinct possibility. It's going to get worse before getting better. Stock up cuz come late October, we go back into lockdown.

At one point, Manitoba had zero active cases, and the lowest number of COVID cases (per-capita), after New Brunswick. Now Manitoba has the most active Cases in Canada.
Meanwhile, Quebec and Ontario have been recording record lows of new cases, and Atlantic Canada has literally no new cases.
The kids will be fine. Not exposing them to everyday pathogens may make things worse for them down the road.We need to worry about what will happen in the Winter, when all but a few people are mainly confined to indoor space. It's already been proven that COVID spreads much more rapidly in the indoors.
I'm worried about children and students returning to school.

We've known this for years and years already. Some researchers have stated "we are too clean" and the unneeded use of disinfectant may be making our immune system weaker.
Overreacting doesn't change anything.
What's more important? An education or visiting grandma? Foregoing seeing grandma isnt that hard to do.I don't think the kids per se are the issue, it's the collateral damage to elderly teachers, grandparents and those in contact with compromised immune systems.
