Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

So

What's your problem with the truth? Have you got some sort of mental health issue?

Gay men make up two thirds of people with HIV. Blacks make up the next highest.

Why are you so shocked at a well-known fact?

You are thicker than molasses in January.

What strange people.
Denying that gay men make up the majority of HIV victims. Next you'll be telling us that it's not true that most Italians are Catholics.
Could you point out where someone denied that gay men make up the majority of HIV sufferers?

A quote will do nicely.

Well, I never did consider myself knowledgeable about the virus, so I just defer to those who do, like Trump, Blackie and Walter.
Thanks for posting about me.

Totally moot point. Until we know for sure that gays make up 100% of HIV victims, there is NO reason to conclude about the sexual orientation of ANY of the victims. It's just bloody mindedness! But then you and Walter just reek of hatred.
Thanks for posting about me.

Reporter: Why wasn't there enough PPE in the national stockpile?

Kayleigh: I'd redirect your question to president Obama, who left the cupboards bare.

Reporter: But Trump has been in office for more than 3 years.

Kayleigh: Yes, and that is why we had plenty of PPE.

She is going to out Kelly Ann, Kelly Ann.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

News has gone dark up there. I did see a report of people still being allowed to cross.. On the other hand I saw one report that immigrants were turned away at the Roxham crossing.

Amnesty International calls on Canada to open border to refugees from the U.S.

>>>> continued

'We will continue to defend our values'

In April, the federal government modified the regulations somewhat to allow some refugees to claim asylum in Canada, but the new rules do not apply to those who cross the border through irregular crossings, such as the Roxham Road crossing between Quebec and New York State.
"We believe that Canada's approach – especially with regard to refugees entering from the U.S. – must be improved so that we may truly and consistently demonstrate the international leadership that is so urgently required," the letter states.
"In light of the many ways that refugee protection in the U.S. falls far short of crucial international legal obligations, it is important for Canada to open its borders to those who are unable to find protection and have their rights upheld there."
Allowing refugee claimants to cross into Canada and implementing public health measures — such as the 14-day quarantine that applies to other essential cross-border travel — would show the rest of the world "that there should be no choice between protecting refugees and protecting public health; the two can and must go hand in hand," says the letter..........More

This CBC article admits exceptions have been made and the resistance has to be kept up.

REBEL reports

Illegal immigrants STILL crossing into Canada — SIGN THE PETITION to close the border now

Keean Bexte (March 17, 2020):
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced yesterday that the Canadian border will be closed to all symptomatic persons and non-Canadian citizens with the exception of immediate family members, permanent residents, diplomats, aircrews, and U.S. citizens.
But do you believe that? Do you trust that illegal border crossings like the one at Roxham Road are closing to illegal immigrants, too?
I certainly don't, because I have driven to the RCMP’s notorious checkpoint at Roxham Road to investigate, and I am finding that illegal immigrants — non-U.S. citizens — are still hopping on a bus to Canada:

Roxham Road is still open, despite Trudeau saying that Canada's borders are closed to all but Americans.
And to make matters worse, the aptly named Clinton County, which sits along the U.S.-Canada border, is now home to at least one case of the novel coronavirus. That patient is reportedly in critical condition.
I have also learned that upon arrival in Canada, illegal immigrants are taken into custody, monitored for 24 hours, and then moved to a high-density quarantine unit.
So, any foreigner in the world can simply walk into Canada and get free, taxpayer-funded coronavirus healthcare — but Canadian citizens who show symptoms are not allowed back?
This is a huge crisis for Canada, and Trudeau's government is endangering Canadians by failing to fully close the border.
If you are outraged by this, please sign our petition to close the border now.
Thank you!

National post

But, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the International Organization for Migration announced Tuesday they’re temporarily suspending their resettlement programs going forward, given the international disruption to travel.
They said they are hoping people who have already cleared all the formalities will be able to arrive and that countries will at least keep processing applications for when travel bans lift.
“As resettlement remains a life-saving tool for many refugees, UNHCR and IOM are appealing to States, and working in close co-ordination with them, to ensure that movements can continue for the most critical emergency cases wherever possible,” the organizations said in a statement.

The airline shutdown did more to close the border than anything the Libs. did

President Trump says his administration is exploring whether a coronavirus vaccine should be free but declined to offer his personal opinion.

I know where it will be free for anyone rich/poor/old/young/men/women/refugees/immigrants/humans in general.

Thanks, Girth, for proving me exactly right.

I thought it was standard knowledge that gays make up most HIV victims but not, it seems, amongst the Left.

That graph proves you are exactly wrong, to be making ANY assumptions about AID's victims sexual orientation. You're just hateful!

From Canada

Government officials say national stockpile not designed for pandemic: 'We do not focus on PPE'

OTTAWA – Canada’s National Emergency Strategic Stockpile wasn’t focused on personal protective equipment and had little of the necessary gear to respond to COVID-19, government officials testified at a House of Commons committee on Friday.
The stockpile, or NESS, was established in 1952 out of fear of the Cold War. It has changed over the years and warehoused different items depending on expected demands.
But Sally Thornton, a vice-president with the Public Health Agency of Canada, told MPs that it was never meant to backstop the provincial health care systems.
“We do not focus on PPE and that wouldn’t be a major element, because we count on our provinces, within their respective authority, to maintain their stockpile.”
She said the stockpile is for backing up in emergencies like natural disasters or terrorist attacks that hit suddenly and without warning.
“The NESS was structured to prepare for low probability, high impact events,” she said. “It’s a niche role in stockpiling rare and hard to find assets.”
She said that has included the facilities needed to deal with mass evacuations or terrorist attacks, as well as vaccine for rare diseases or antidotes for chemical weapons.
“The role has changed to focus more on chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats. We began to move away from beds and blankets and increased our holdings of antiviral medications and key treatments.”
The stockpile, Thornton said, is run by 18 people in normal times and doesn’t have the budget to act as a backstop on the entire health system.
“The operating budget for the NESS has been about $3 million per year.”
The stockpile is spread out across eight warehouses in six cities and was reduced in 2012 from 11 warehouses in nine cities. When that reduction took place, two million N95 masks that had been expired for a decade were thrown aside.
Thornton was pressed repeatedly about that decision and said the masks were expired, nearly 10 years old. She said if there had been a good use for them, the government would have found it.
“There would have been no demand for these products or they would have been used.”
NDP MP Matthew Green found the answer troubling. He said it’s clear the two million masks should not have gone to waste.
“This is a national scandal. You’re saying that there are systems in place yet these systems have clearly failed.”
Green, a former small business owner, said there is no reason the federal government shouldn’t have a detailed inventory of what is in its stockpiles.
“Every medium-sized business in the country has this ability,” he said. “I knew to the letter how many T-shirts that I had left in my stock, that we don’t have that is extremely troubling.”
He said the stockpile should be overhauled and the federal government should take the lead creating a stockpile the provinces can use should another disaster strike.

A takeaway from the Canadian inquiry IMO the 16 Tonne PPE donation to China really doesn't make sense, especially now

No, it doesn't. It proves me right.

You're just hateful

Why? For stating a well-known fact that even a schoolchild knows?

What's the matter with you? Are you alright?

Oh no, I'm sorry. You're not. You're a raging Lefty, therefore you don't deal in facts, just your own weird beliefs and emotion. You put emotion before facts and commonsense.

Considering its well-known that gay men make up the majority of HIV victims - I thought this was as well-known as the sky being blue - then I've got every right to say that gay men make up most victims.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Another misleading headline Freeland is pushing for the border to stay closed past the June 21 deadline she is requesting from the USA

Freeland won't say if U.S. wants border agreement extended beyond June 21

Nice beginning to make it look like the US is pressing

WASHINGTON — Canada and the United States are both "very comfortable" with their mutual ban on non-essential cross-border travel, but Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland won't say if the Americans want to extend the restrictions beyond June 21.
Recent media reports suggest the U.S., fearing the import of COVID-19 cases, wants an indefinite timeline for existing restrictions at both the southern and northern borders. It's not clear if that pertains to the ban on non-essential travel or is specifically aimed at curtailing immigration.

And then further down the article with a twist of words the truth comes out with another twist to blame it on Trump.

Sources familiar with the discussions have confirmed Canada has requested the existing agreement, which is currently slated to expire next week, be extended for another 30 days until June 21. The U.S. has been receptive to that request, say the sources, who were not authorized to discuss details and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The New York Times reported earlier this week that President Donald Trump's administration is working on an order to extend indefinitely its ban on non-essential cross-border travel into the U.S., with the onus on Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, to decide when COVID-19 no longer poses a threat to Americans.
Critics have accused the anti-immigration White House of using the pandemic as an excuse to further restrict the flow of immigrants into the country, particularly over the southern border. But the northern border hasn't escaped their attention: a short-lived proposal to deploy U.S. soldiers near the Canadian frontier was aimed at intercepting illegal migrants.
