Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Remainers criticised Britain, a non-EU member state, for not joining an EU scheme to provide coronavirus PPE. However, the scheme was a massive failure and cost lives. The Conservative Party's backbench 1922 Committee has asked the Government to end the lockdown. And happy St George's Day!

I listened to the whole thing, idiot reporter wouldn't let the question go after getting the answer even moving the goalposts to move it from why didn't you do something earlier, to what were you doing about it in Feb. after closing off the flights and locking down the country. The reporter tried his best to paint Trump into a corner to get a predetermined outcome.

What did you see or hear from the whole exchange?

Trump not even answering the question even when the reporter clarified what they were talking about.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

What's the point of having a lockdown when you're still letting foreigners into the country?

It's similar to here. Native Britons are being told to stay indoors while the Government keeps airports open and allows foreigners to enter. They even flew in a sh"tload of Romanians the other day to go fruit and veg picking in the fields whilst millions of Brits are told they can't go to work.

I'm telling you, there's something fishy going on.

Shame on the people who hired the workers for not looking local first.

Shame on the locals for not seeing a job available and stepping up to go work it.

Same issue in the US (ironically farm workers from out of the US are exempt from the immigration ban), but it's the same reason why they were hired to begin with. Only the foreign workers want to work the 'shit jobs' while rest of society wants a 9-5, 5 day a week holidays, vacation, benefits type of job. Oh, and one that won't risk them for Covid.

The NHS's forgotten patients: Thousands of operations are cancelled and heart, stroke and cancer victims miss vital treatment - because managers 'threw everything' at coronavirus (while dancing nurses find time to make viral videos)

Figures suggest that up to four times the number of beds are free than normal for this time of year after a huge slowdown in non Covid-19 admissions as health bosses aim their focus at the pandemic response. Hospitals have cancelled 'thousands' of their non-urgent surgeries - like hip and knee operations and IVF treatment - to free up space for infected patients, and operating theatres, equipped with oxygen supplies, have been turned into coronavirus wards. Nightingale hospitals , built for the expected surge in coronavirus victims, are also largely empty, and private hospitals taken over by the NHS at a cost of hundreds of millions of pounds are also barely being used. The cancellation of treatments has sparked fears among doctors about the impact on the health of patients with non-coronavirus symptoms - like those suffering with heart attacks, strokes or tumours while many delay seeing their GP in lockdown. Experts warn up to 2,700 cancers are being missed every week as the numbers being referred by doctors for urgent hospital appointments or checks had dropped by 75 per cent. Meanwhile NHS staff have been accused of making a 'mockery' of the health service as they faced a barrage of criticism for posting 'tone deaf' and 'disrespectful' videos of dance routines on coronavirus wards while seriously ill patients have their medical treatment delayed.

No. I think the lockdown should be ended.

Thank Gods you're not in charge - by the way, go walk around, do whatever you want, if you think the lockdown is stupid. We know you won't though because in the end you're just all talk. By the way, it's not a true lockdown. And thankfully there are some people who do have empathy for other humans, unlike you.

The Queen and Prince Philip are not virologists and/or epidemiologists the last time I checked.

Neither are you.

Unlike you and the other lockdowners I'm able to think for myself and have my own opinions on every matter. I'm not a programmed automaton.

Being someone not on lockdown, whether you are or not doesn't make any difference as you're still an ignorant POS and always will be.

"thousands' of their non-urgent surgeries"

Any examples of critical care being denied?

Many Brits don't want to do veg picking on farms because the pay is abominable and the work conditions atrocious - like workers having to live on-site even if they are local and three workers having to live together in the same caravan.

But some Brits have applied for these jobs but have been turned down in favour of these Romanians that have been flown in.

Talking about the NHS: we're 25 minutes away from 8pm when, every Thursday, people come outdoors and do the national clap for the NHS. I've been hearing it every Thursday at 8pm for the last few weeks now even when indoors: loads of clapping and cheering, pots and pans being clanged and even fireworks.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

The exact same thing is happening in Canada.

Nope, all necessary treatments and surgery's are happening.

I know of a baby that was born with hip displacement issues and she is brought into children's every week to have the harness adjusted.

My oldest had issues which they were concerned was a possible brain tumor, got in right away for a cat scan and found that he had an infection causing swelling in his brain which he is being treated for.

So, no issues here. If you're having issues there, its nhs.... and I do mean IF.

Re: COVIDD-19 'Pandemic'

Actually, it was specifically nicotine (via patch). The delivery system was not really important from what I read.

The study I linked to was smokers vs non.

So it may not be how it’s delivered but patients who smoked had fewer severe symptoms.

But the guy said he was going to study with a nicotine patch and was convinced it was the nicotine that was the factor. Let me re-read because that was the takeaway I got from it.

ETA: I have re-read both your study and BL's and cannot find that statement. Not sure how I came away with it.

Still not worth trashing your lungs because it helps this particular virus.

Exactly my point, thank you for admitting that Brits don't want any job, they just want specific jobs, thus you've no room to talk.

Proof of them asking to be hired and refused? And if that's the case, why aren't they protesting it/going to your labor board to correct the issue? Is it because they applied, found out the conditions and pay, and instead withdrew their application to work?
