Erin O'Toole has just revealed the Conservative plan on climate change, and announced that he will bring in a carbon tax if elected.

Conservatives reveal climate plan with carbon tax

It looks like Conservatives are abandoning support from their base, apparently O'Toole has determined that western votes are of little value to him and his party. It's hard to see this as anything other than a broken promise by O'Toole.

He obviously believes that his supporters are clueless, as he is spinning this as a "carbon savings account." So....a tax is actually a savings account. While I haven't gone through the details yet, at first sight it sounds about as logical a as Trudeau telling everyone they will get every penny back that he takes.

FILDEBRANDT: O’Toole lied. And his carbon tax is worse than Trudeau’s

“The real difference between the Trudeau carbon tax and the O’Toole carbon tax boils down to how taxpayers are allowed to spend the money collected from them. And on this front, Justin Trudeau’s plan is somehow, unambiguously better than O’Toole’s.” – Fildebrandt

I doubt man could in a 100 years match the daily ghg output of all the Earth's crevices and naturally occurring forest fires.

yet the blinkered greenie movement persists like a yappy mutt.

the tool has just platformed himself and his party into irrelevancy.

There are rumblings that many in the conservative caucus were blindsided by O'Toole. There is evidence to support this...if you go back just a few weeks, you can see the divide between the caucus and their leader with Conservative delegates voting against and rejecting O'Toole's climate change motion that he forwarded. There have also been anonymous sources within the Conservative caucus who have been coming out recently with concerns of O'Toole bringing out a carbon pricing scheme, warning that he will be abandoning his promise to eliminate a carbon tax.

MP's are worried that O'Toole will embrace a carbon tax

O'Toole seems to be playing a stupid game here that will only hurt him and hobble the party. The left thinks his dumb carbon scheme is too complex and doesn't go nearly far enough criticizing it for rewarding people who pollute. The right feels betrayed and thinks it goes too far, many will simply not support it. He has pretty much alienated his party from voters on all sides.

The only chance for the Conservative party now is for MP's to stand up en masse against this scheme and take the party back from "Trudeau light."

The one chance you've got to regain power and you guys want to squander it.

"You guys?" Who are "us guys?"

Only a partisan hack who despises prosperity and unity of their country hoping for it's failure would follow politics like cheering for a sports team. Some people try to improve their position through effort, others try and drag everyone else down around them to gain advantage because they really have nothing to offer. There's zero doubt which camp you're in.

That was a pretty meaningless lecture.
