The atmosphere turned sour at a Conservative Party event in Welland, Ont., when reporters asked Stephen Harper about Syrian refugees.

Harper was asked by reporters to further explain his security concerns about refugees, as well as how he would speed up the process of bringing Syrians to Canada.

When a third reporter said she was following up on the refugee story as well, the crowd began to groan in frustration at the media.

One supporter shouted at journalists. "How many kids drowned in pools in Canada since last summer? Do you blame the government for that?"

The reporter proceeded to ask Harper once again about his security concerns.

"We will help refugees. We will also protect Canadians on security and we are committed to doing both of these things."

Reporters continued to shout "How?" but the questions were ignored.

After Harper's remarks, reporters attempted to speak to Nicholson about the situation in Syria and the refugee issue, but Nicholson walked away and reporters were prevented from following him by Conservative staff.

They are just trying to score political points in an election year.....

Depends on their view. Don't know about Canada, but every single wave of immigration into the U.S. has been vociferously and violently opposed by the ladder-pullers.

Actually, the opposite is very clear.

There are polls that show people want government support and the parties that are pushing this have also maintained their positions in the polls while Harper's gone down.

After each and every Canadian is taken care of at home, then Canadians can search the migrant camps looking for orphans to bring back.

So the final result is they booted out 40,000 just to bring in another 40,000 who as far as they know have an unproven work ethic? F**king brilliant!

If we get 40k of them and there are 4M then 3,960,000 of 'them' return home.
Be real strange if the 'immigrants' absorbed by the 'NATO Nations' just happen to number the same as the 'rebels' and some orphans and widows thrown it for appearances sake. To remain there means they might be facing the death penalty.

Our government would be wise to stop all refugees from the middle east from coming here. If not we will soon have a crisis of our own.

As I have written on this forum before, if you continue to allow refugees to enter into your borders, what incentive is there for these countries to solve their problems when they know they can relieve their problems by dumping them on you???


It makes absolutely no sense for the USA, Canada, and Europe to allow these people in as it only creates more problems.

Remember the riots in France by Algerians when there was racial trouble? As many French said at that time, let Algerians solve their problems. Otherwise by allowing people in they do not solve the problems at home and new ones are created in France. The same is happening or on the verge of happening all over Europe and elsewhere.

Consider how radical Muslims were using Gopherland as their recruitment base - this because we have allowed so many war refugees from Ethiopia and Somalia. We allowed thousands in - has that done anything at all to solve their problems? Obviously, the answer is NO.
