I think there is still an issue with Trudeau getting paid at a time when he was supposed to be working on government parliament issues.,

I just can't imagine what my employer would do to me if during regular business hours, I decided to go next door and do some other work to earn some more money for myself!!

And of course there is an issue with conflict of interest. Someone should have a look at his speeches as well as his traveling schedule!!

... As has been mentioned, there is nothing illegal about Trudeau's speaking engagements - however, that does not mean that he is able to forego his paid responsibilities as an MP and still expect compensation.... Makes you wonder if the Ethics Commission might look into that angle of this saga

the one good thing that will come out of this is a 'Block' on ALL elected politicians collecting a fee for motivational speaking. And JT will make a charitable donation to the St John's group.

I don't think that this issue is so much about the legality of what Trudeau has done, but more so about the optics... There already is enough graft and pork-barrelling in gvt and JT has simply taken it to a new level.
