Nonsense, Goober. I have worked both in the public and private sectors. Costs are often markedly less in the public sector because profits are not factored into the equation. To see labour and its unions as the enemy, and the capitalist as the working man's saviour is a tad naive, and plays into hands of the manipulative.

I do not see them as the enemy - I see how costs, productivity and great benefits many only dream of were the norm.
Why should a civil servant be able to bank sick leave, then have the ability to cash them out on retirement.
Or find a willing Doctor and take the last year off at full pay.

I used to work in the private sector and took a pay cut when I moved to the public sector. I gave up income for a better lifestyle and time with my kids. I get a kick out of people that think the public sector is a gravy train.
Who has condemned all Public Servants? Not me Buck-

Oh come now!! You're just being petty and showing your jealous nature because some people are doing better than you. Rather than complain, why don't you try working harder. That's how I got ahead.

Personal attacks- Verboten

I know the stats, Goober. They don't support your position.
Try this...
The bottom 20% in Canada earn only 1% of the income.

Cannuck is right. The public sector worker often trades income for security.

Does that entail a job for life?

Goober when it comes to labour and negotiating contracts the public sector bargained
a deal on behalf of their members and they got those benefits. It should be on the
shoulders of the private sector unions to bargain for just as good a deal as they can get.
Its about who can get what from who and that is the nature of bargaining. That is why
companies can lock out union member and unions can strike and they have to work
out their differences.
Almost all negotiations end with a settlement without strikes or lockouts we only hear
about situations where things went wrong.
I will say one thing in defence of Ford, During the last news conference on the storm he
looked like and behaved like a Mayor should and all the credit to him for that. If he stayed
away from the asinine behaviour he would be a lot better off. This defiant chip on the
shoulder stuff does not bode well for him or anyone else.

If you think working for any government is hard you lack ambition.

See how the US is reducing Vets pensions- It is coming to Canada- Working for 30 years, drawing a pension for 25 to 35 years is not sustainable.

Speaking from experience there are a couple of aspects about working for Gov’t. that is hard. One is for the guy who came up through the ranks over a period of many years of first hand experience only to find himself working for a boss with a piece of paper but doesn’t know sheep sh*t from dates as far as the job at hand is concerned. The other is the drones, parasites and sh*t disturbers invariably get protected because of who they know and who they bl*w.

Don't make the same mistake some others are making. "Union" and "Public Sector" are not synonyms.

If you think working for any government is hard you lack ambition.

Lol...hard work and ambition has made it so I can retire at 55 despite taking a significant pay cut to work in the public sector.

Does that entail a job for life?

Contrary to the nonsense Taxslave is spewing, government employees are not guaranteed jobs for life. They aren't even guaranteed jobs til the next round of budget cuts

Grade 3 math will get you to that conclusion. But hey I’m not planning on suicide to compensate. L.O.L.

Silly boy, you spew more nonsense in a single post than Taxslave posts in a year. As I’m sure half the forum can easily predict another “badge of honour” is on the way. Is it simply a coincidence that stupid people reject criticism? L.O.L.
