I don't think liberals would admit any truth but their own. They are legends in their own minds.
That is a two way street. I think it would be more accurate to say that politically polarized people would "admit any truth but their own. They are legends in their own minds."

What did she say? I understood the words, but not quite the idea she intended to communicate:-?
She said, "You know. What I think. Except that. And this. You see? But here." etc. Get it? lol

Finger in George W. Bush's eyes:

Nobel Peace Prize to Jimmy Carter in 2002.
Nobel Peace Prize to Al Gore in 2007.
Nobel Peace Prize to Hussain (nicotine addict) Obama in 2009.

You left out Yassar Arafat and Li Duc Tho, YJ. If you are going to mention only the questionable characters (questionable according to you anyway, I think Gore and Carter thoroughly deserved the Noble Prize), why leave them out?

Nobel Prize carries with it considerable amount of international prestige, in spite of what you may think. It indeed was a great honour for Obama to be awarded the Nobel Prize.

All this conservative whining only shows the hatred that many conservatives feel towards Obama.

SirJosephPorter, I DID mention Arafat elsewhere.

In this post I only mentioned AMERICANS, in case you failed to notice.

Nobel Peace Prize to Arafat or Li Duc Tho - pathetic and misguided they might be - were not a willful, vengeful and malicious finger in the eyes of George W. Bush.

The Prize to the worthies I mentioned definitely IS.

I think the same could be said of her.
SJP

Perhaps you could bring light to the ones in the darkness and list Obama's accomplishments up till end Feb 09 - That is the cutoff date that the Nobel Committee is held to - Hopefully your reply will be as well written as one of Obama's speeches. He certainly can speak -

From the Nobel Committee's website...
Quote:
"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population. (Emphasis mine)

"For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that "Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.""

We have rehashed this point many times in this thread, Goober. Anyway, read Spade’s post following yours.

Spade - As i stated he is a great speaker but he has a hard road to hoe. I hope he succeeds but the Nobel was a tad Ealry as i mentioned at the start of this thread - I remember SJP and others in the media crowing that if Obama lost the election then the US were racists - they were excuse makers seeking an excuse when the facts were laid bare and easily seen - they did not look to Iowa - Rural white America where he won a decisive victory - A state that could be seen as representative of small town America - I think Obama has and I hope the leadership to earn this reward because much depends upon it. But he did get it a tad early - as for inspiration and a world that must work together many have spoken those words. Words and actions are 2 different stripes of the same animal.
