Meh Tabernacles, churches, temples, who needs em.

I believe I'll have a cup of tea now.
And hubby picked up the parcel so we can have home roasted coffee tomorrow instead of that canned crap that we have for emergencies. And the parcel came from the Greenbeanery, not any god. And the beans came from plants, not any god. hehe

All of the above?? Really I got to call you on that one. Now if you are looking for a role model try this on for size.

Please don't knock my Stupid Store Instant. Take hot water out of most taps and you can tell time as it gets darker by the hour, one gulp a cup and the whole process might take a whole minute every morning. Nor shall I miss it all that much should the deliveries get held up.

Like I said, if I will believe in one, I might as well believe in them all or none at all. The same evidence exists for them all.
I simply accept them and leave it at that. Do I think they are concerned about Earth or its inhabitants? Not in the least so I won't waste my time worshiping or praying.
A role model? I kind of like the SIlver Surfer. He's a god killer.

Nothing but God is to be worshiped, if He isn't here how can he be worshiped at this moment? Prayer on the other hand is something that is supposed to come in handy in terms of actual safety from real harm during the 3 1/2 years before Christ arrives and removes the danger for ever. That the 'latter days' are even a part of prophecy is something the Bible does quite well in that there are many such instances rather than a few. I kind of like the way there is a way to say a long prayer in private or this version for those in immediate peril.

De:4:29-31:
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God,
thou shalt find him,
if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
When thou art in tribulation,
and all these things are come upon thee,
even in the latter days,
if thou turn to the LORD thy God,
and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;)
he will not forsake thee,
neither destroy thee,
nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Lu:18:11-14:
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself,
God,
I thank thee,
that I am not as other men are, extortioners,
unjust,
adulterers,
or even as this publican.
I fast twice in the week,
I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican,
standing afar off,
would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven,
but smote upon his breast,
saying,
God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you,
this man went down to his house justified rather than the other:
for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased;
and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Pope Rejects Lunch with Boehner, Pelosi, McConnell, Reid: He will be Dining with the Homeless

We now know why the United States Congress absolutely did not want Pope Francis to come to America. He makes them look like the complete as*holes they are. Obviously, Congress thought Pope Francis would be honored to dine with them, and all their pomp and prestige. They were wrong.
Pope Francis says he didn’t have the time because he already had a date eating with the homeless. In fact, he is not only going to be eating with them, but serving them. The meal will take place at St. Patrick’s Church in Washington, D.C.
Rather than try to write some great prose about this situation, Ring of Fire will simply quote Eric March from the website Upworthy, because he nailed it:
Unlike some of his predecessors, Francis has reminded journalists and world leaders time and time again that the church is for the poor, blasted the global financial system which causes so much poverty in the first place, and called on Catholics across the globe to take action and start lifting up the most vulnerable among them.
He’s also spoken out forcefully against economic inequality.
Including some of the worst, most exploitative labor practices in the world, which create conditions that allow hardship and desperation to thrive.
Blowing off John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi to serve the homeless is pretty much the kind of badassery we’ve come to expect from this pope when it comes to speaking up for the world’s most hard-up.

Isn't this what Christianity is supposed to be about?

WTF is a Judeo Christian?
The confused SOBs who call themselves Christians while constantly ignoring Christ's teachings, preferring instead to spout Levitican law whenever it suits their purpose. You know, like how gay people are evil sinners who are going to hell but apparently adultery is cool, even though Deuteronomy says the penalty for adultery is death.

It's too bad that penalty wasn't on the US law books. There'd be a lot fewer intolerant, religious **** sphincters down there and maybe a lot less nonsense.

Yeah, those popes are real stand up guys. Living in opulence surrounded by one of the dirt poorest neighbourhoods in Europe. Sure is nice to see the Vatican still clutching it's ill-gotten riches too. Maybe when the Vatican can wash the stink of utter hypocrisy from itself, it will become relevant again,

In the United States, there is separation of church and state. In Canada, this is not true. We do not recognize that separation. Canadians have the right to worship the religion of their choice to not practice any religion at all.
As with a few other topics, the feeling of whether there is a God or not, seems to inflame people.
The argument whether 2+2=7 or 2+2=8 will never be agreed on.
It is too bad that people cannot just respect each other and let the individual practice their own personal faith ot just let someone be.

Erm, who is to say that the universe just is (no sentience involved) and humans simply call it Allah, Jehovah, the gitchimanidoo, Jupiter, etc.?

Ok so the universe just is and there's no sentience involved and you couldn't possibly have had that thought or communicated it to us here reading it that aren't really here at either. Materialists believe that a table of billiard balls put into motion will eventually begin to think.
First there was mind all else followed. Mind over matter is the Law.

I was not referring to how I felt about Christ, since my religion is off the beaten path. I believe in Christ and was brought up a Christian Scientisit (not Scientologist).

The Pope does not live in te opulence of the Papal apartments. He has chosen to live in a modest apartment attached. He does have a nice sitting room but otherwise lives and works in his office. My Dad used to love to argue. He would argue black is white, the in the next 5 minutes would argue, black is blue. One thing I do not understand the infallibility of the Pope which is neither here nor there. My point is that I am not going to change your mind, and your are not going to change mind.

How many of the homeless people he'll be eating with have that?

My Dad used to love to argue. He would argue black is white, the in the next 5 minutes would argue, black is blue.
Umm. . . sure, okay.

One thing I do not understand the infallibility of the Pope which is neither here nor there.
Contrary to popular belief, the doctrine of Papal infallibility does not mean everything the Pope says or does is necessarily correct. Papal infallibility only applies when the Pope invokes it for one of his policies. The last time Papal infallibility was invoked was for Paul VI's Humanae Vitae encyclical in the 60s.

My point is that I am not going to change your mind, and your are not going to change mind.
Changing my mind is easy as pie. All you need to do is present some evidence and construct a reasonable argument.

Some evidence and reasonable argument will circumvent your present faith in evidence and reason? So you are open to manipulation.

Electric Biology and Building Solidarity

https://www.thunderbolts.info/wp/2015/09/15/electric-biology-and-building-solidarity/

Back in October of 2010 at a Google workshop on quantum biology, biophysicist Luca Turin presented excellent initial evidence to suggest that GABA receptors functioned primarily by the principals of molecular electronics, rather than by the “lock and key” theory which many scholars might have mistakenly assumed was confirmed as fact. His dedicated investigation of a bevy of experiments from Russian and American sources added up to a very clear picture of what is possible, or even most likely, in the biology of brain receptor sites. He argued that benzodiazepines (sedative/hypnotic drugs for relaxation or sleep) function like transistors that plug into GABA receptors so as to complete a circuit.
The benzodiazepine molecule has such a strong electron affinity that when it docks with the receptor site it will actually pull an electron from the long protein that extends through the cell membrane. This change to the protein’s charge now transforms it into a conductor that will transport electrons across the cell membrane, and through the newly formed circuit that the benzodiazepine has completed.

In a TED talk Dr. Turin first brought up some notable inconsistencies in the molecular-shape-model of smell, and then presented examples of the increased explanatory power of a frequency-based model (in a process of logical comparison quite familiar to Thunderbolts Project viewers). He explained how the process of detecting molecular electric frequencies can occur using only components of nano-scale size, using materials already present in the tissues of the nose. These sensor cells would likely be tuned to one particular frequency out of a range of frequencies. The presence of the correct electronic frequency would serve as a literal “energetic bridge” to allow electron movement to occur within the cellular apparatus, in an effect known as indirect electron tunneling.
The truly strong evidence or “proof of concept” in this case was his explanation of how commercially successful this theory had been, and how dramatically it transforms the scientific aspect of the perfume industry. In far less time, at much less cost, and without the laborious process of trial-and-error that a chemist requires, one can simply calculate the needed molecular frequency to produce a scent and then have it in hand (or in bottle rather) in only a few easy weeks.
Despite disbelief among the chemistry community, Luca Turin (and his coworkers in the new company which was founded around him) find that open-mindedness is sometimes just one dramatic and tangible demonstration away. Dr. Turin exclaimed: “When you put a little 10-gram vial on the table in front of perfumers and it smells like coumarin, and it isn’t coumarin, and you found it in three weeks, this focuses everyone’s mind wonderfully!”

"Then the angel said to me, 'Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!" (Revelation 19:9 NIV)

I had the most interesting dream last night. I walked into a banquet hall and there at a long table were all of my Canadian Content friends eating and drinking and celebrating. As I entered, Cliffy asked, "What are you doing here?", and roared with laughter. TecumsehBones quipped, "Who let you in?", and more laughter ensued. Every time another person entered, the teasing and merriment began anew. Everyone there was astonished to see the others who were invited : )
