I always thought canadians made more sense than americans, but i was wrong, can you please tell me why israel has the right to do whatever they want in the name of self defense, in return, everything arabs does they are terrorist??

Israel is not free to do whatever they want. If they want to nuke a 20km corridor around their territory to stop the continual harrasment, they can't get away with that.

Israel does much that is questionable and they are often rightly taken to task on it. I make no claims that they haven't commited grevious wrongs in their history.

But that is also not an excuse to lie about what Israel is doing and is not doing in hopes of making the enemy appear more despicable than they are in reality.

As far as criticizing Arab activities as terrorism.
Israel and Arab countries fought several wars. No one called that terrorism. The surprise attack on Yom Kippur was not called terrorism.
It was only after Arab countries gave up on using military to fight military and switched it's attacks to purposefully killing as many innocent civilians that it gets called terrorism.

A map of the "wanton and widespread destruction" currently being doled out by the Israeli juggernaut...

If you are an "innocent civilian" in these areas, maybe you should move.

How can you beat terrorists by becoming terrorists? Is it when country bombs women and children it's self defense and not terrorism? By these actions Israel is gaining more enemies and putting itself at further risk. Now Hezbollah is seen more then ever as defenders of Lebanon. When they kidnapped those soldiers (a military target) they wanted to trade for prisoners. This happened before with no blood shed. But now instead of negotiating, Israel bombed civilians, UN bases, and Canadians. To me it seems like war crimes motivated by racism.

Why are there such a proliferation of pro Israel postings on this and other web sites all of a sudden? Here's why:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3-2289232,00.html

The Times July 28, 2006

Israel backed by army of cyber-soldiers
From Yonit Farago in Jerusalem
WHILE Israel fights Hezbollah with tanks and aircraft, its supporters are campaigning on the internet.

Israel’s Government has thrown its weight behind efforts by supporters to counter what it believes to be negative bias and a tide of pro-Arab propaganda. The Foreign Ministry has ordered trainee diplomats to track websites and chatrooms so that networks of US and European groups with hundreds of thousands of Jewish activists can place supportive messages.

In the past week nearly 5,000 members of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) have downloaded special “megaphone” software that alerts them to anti-Israeli chatrooms or internet polls to enable them to post contrary viewpoints. A student team in Jerusalem combs the web in a host of different languages to flag the sites so that those who have signed up can influence an opinion survey or the course of a debate.

Jonny Cline, of the international student group, said that Jewish students and youth groups with their understanding of the web environment were ideally placed to present another side to the debate.

“We’re saying to these people that if Israel is being bashed, don’t ignore it, change it,” Mr Cline said. “A poll like CNN’s takes just a few seconds to vote in, but if thousands take part the outcome will be changed. What’s vital is that the international face of the conflict is balanced.”

Doron Barkat, 29, in Jerusalem, spends long nights trawling the web to try to swing the debate Israel’s way. “When I see internet polls for or against Israel I send out a mailing list to vote for Israel,” he said. “It can be that after 15 minutes there will be 400 votes for Israel.

“It’s very satisfying. There are also forums where Lebanese and Israelis talk.”

Israel’s Foreign Ministry must avoid direct involvement with the campaign but is in contact with international Jewish and evangelical Christian groups, distributing internet information packs.

Amir Gissin, the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s public relations director, said: “The internet’s become a leading tool for news, shaping the world view of millions. Our problem is the foreign media shows Lebanese suffering, but not Israeli. We’re bypassing that filter by distributing pictures showing how northern Israelis suffer from Katyusha rocket attacks.”

Veeeery interesting..... why doesn't it surprise me??Glad I speak for myself, I guess, but it sure is interesting... I suppose, now, people asking questions or offering unsupportive-of-Israel will have to put up with being on "terrorist banktolls"

Really weird this is, to have civilians "catapulting the propaganda".. they finally found a way to make propaganda "grassroots", just F-ing brilliant

So....we were terrorists when we bombed Berlin into rubble. We were terrorists when we bombed Tokyo into rubble.

By the way, Jews and Arabs are both Semites, so the war can hardly be based on racism........they are the same people.

Israel was attacked, and has been regularly attacked from Lebanon for the last 6 years, ever since they let the international community draw the border between Lebanon and Israel..........and then withdrew behind it.

Israel has constantly and consistently surrendered territory it has gained in self-defense and and the cost of much blood back to the Arabs in hope it would bring peace. Lebanon, Gaza, the Sinai (twice), and on and on. Israel's gestures of peace, or retreats, whatever you wish to call them, have merely encouraged the Arabs to attack her more often.

Hezbollah is deeply embedded among the Shia of south Lebanon. They are the fifth largest military entity in the ME. They have NO REASON TO EXIST except to kill Israelis. They have no territorial claim. They have no cause except to hate Jews. And you accuse the ISRAELIS of racism?

Israel is absolutely in the right here. They are seeking to destroy the proxy army of Iran, which attacked them for no reason, and they are showing great restraint in doing so. Hezbollah attacked, Hezbollah is hiding behind the skirts of the civilians of south Lebanon, Hezbollah (with Iran and Syria) is fully responsible for all the carnage in south Lebanon.

If the west had any cojones, they would join with Israel and crush all three entities.

This is a map from an Israeli site ostensibly showing how Israel is endangered by the Katyusha rockets. You might notice that the map doesn't show Palestine because in Israeli eyes, there isn't such a country. The West Bank and Gaza were not part of the agreement that created Israel. We also know there are no Katyusha rockets in the West Bank so the whole map is a lie.

Odd, according to that map the rockets can't even hit Haifa, where most of the actual damage is supposed to be occurring...
That certainly is weird... I wonder how the range of Israels undeclared nuclear arsenal (or is that just a "moonbat theory" too) would appear on such a graphik???

Juan, I don't see the point. Obviously Hezbollah has some missiles much more advanced, as they are hitting targets at twice the range depicted on the map.

Only in Israeli eyes? I hate to break it to you, but there really isn't a country called Palestine. There are aspirations to create one, but currently there isn't one.

We also know there are no Katyusha rockets in the West Bank so the whole map is a lie.

And now, here, as they say, is the rest of the story:

Katyusha rockets are from time to time launched into towns in northern Israel by the Hizbullah Islamic fundamentalist group stationed in southern Lebanon...

It is rarely realized, however, the potential danger such rockets could pose to Israel's main population centers should they fall into the wrong hands...

The Katyusha Rocket "Multiple Rocket Launcher" BM-21 pictured here could be easily taken apart and smuggled into a "demilitarized" Palestinian state...

No apartment in Tel Aviv would be safe, as the map below demonstrates...

If Israel relinquishes military control over these regions, it will be impossible to prevent the smuggling of weapons such as the Katyusha. The potential implications are clear.

http://www.iris.org.il/katyusha.htm

So you see, the map in no way, shape or form, was intended to imply that the Palestinians had Katyushas in the West Bank. The page containing the map makes it blaringly clear that the map in no way, shape or form, implies that the Palestinians had Katyushas in the West Bank.

But then, you knew that didn't you. Which is why you linked to the image instead of the page containing the image.

Grow up for God's sake. Israel has absolute control in the westbank. Do you honestly think a very large truck full of easily recognisable rockets are going to sneak into an area in firing range of Tel Aviv? Nonsense!

Do you get all upset when you see an episode of spongebob Squarepants. This is a lie!! Sponges don't eat crabcakes!! :)

The map shows a hypothetical situation #Juan. It's really just that simple.

If Israel relinquishes military control over these regions, it will be impossible to prevent the smuggling of weapons such as the Katyusha. The potential implications are clear.

So what?

Israel has nuclear weapons and missiles that can reach virtually the entire Muslim world. They also have submarines that can carry their nuclear threat anywhere in the world. If I was an Arab, I would be nervous as hell.

They've had these weapons for what, thirty years now? How many mushroom clouds have we seen? On the other side of the coin, the Palestinians have been lobbing an average of almost 4 rockets a day at civilian targets in Israel in response to Israel relinquishing control of Gaza. Who should be nervous?
