Try telling a family struggling to feed, clothe and provide an education for the family how much of a priority gender/minority equality and the special need of transvestites and gay.
The working class are the backbone of society. They know about prioritizing from experience. It's the only way they can survive.

I remember as a young person thinking I knew all the answers. I've seen the same thing in the kids in my family as teenagers and college students.

While I'm sure most in that age group could spot the difference between Jake Gyllenhaal and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a crowded room they still have a mindset that believes jumping off the roof of the garage with a home made parachute sounds like a fun and safe endeavour. The Kardashians and many other celebs have made $h!tloads of money marketing ads to this specific demographic who don't recognize them as ads. Modern schooling is certainly not preparing them for adulthood, but I can't say it was much better in the past. There was a reason the voting age used to be 21.

Not saying I don't trust Stanford, just who published it in print, or virtual print anyway. BTW, last time I checked the drinking age was still, (or again) 21 in the US. You want 18 year olds in the military, that's why its referred to as the infantry, they're young and invincible. But I get it, if you have to pay taxes you should be allowed to vote. Here, you don't pay taxes and can't sign a contract until you're 18, but I wouldn't disagree with raising the age of both back to 21.
