Well someone in Toronto doesn't give a rats azz what NK has to say

Toronto Says Fvck It, And Will Show "The Interview" Anyways | Narcity Toronto

The Seth Rogan, James Franco movie that’s been pulled from theaters all over North America for offending the North Korean government isn’t going down without a fight. A Torontonian has taken it upon himself to organize a screening of the flick here in the city, his rationale being that succumbing to pressure for North Korean hackers is cowardly.

A date has been set for the screening- January 8th- but no venue or copy of the film have been found yet. According to the Facebook event description, these will both be sorted out if enough people show interest in the event. Taylor Scollon, the organizer, encourages people to spread the news widely, explaining that they will find a big enough venue to accommodate everyone who wishes to come.

The event has nearly 300 attendees at the time that this article is being written. It’s been growing in popularity very quickly since the page was made yesterday afternoon. The host asks for donations from anyone attending, the proceeds of which will go to Liberty In North Korea, an American organization that helps North Koreans flee the country and gain refugee status elsewhere.

Check out the movie screening’s Facebook event here.

They DID pull it!

Sony says they are considering a video on demand release.

Typical liberal Hollywood. Weak and cowardly.

Just like Hollywood changing the terrorists from the Tom Clancy novel "The Sum of All Fears" from Islamic Extremist to E. European/Russian Neo-Nazi White Supremacists when they made it into a movie.

Frigging Affleck, what a douche.

Hollywood better play it safe now.

They better start portraying Kim Jong-Un as the hero, leading NBA scorer, Sprint Cup Winning, Olympic Gold Medalist, azz kicking, leader that he is.

actually that would work here. We'd all know the idiocy of it and the mockery would be even more epic.

It makes you wonder what NK is holding back if what you mentioned is all that's been released. Cause it's all pretty vanilla, given the grand scheme of things.

Maybe they have info that Obama isn't actually Obama, but a clone who's been surgically altered to look like Obama but is in fact....

I am just speculating but I would bet that they released what they did to warn and punish. And then threatened Sony saying that what they released is just the tip of the iceberg of what they found and if they go forward with releasing the movie they would release all of the dirty laundry.

Did you see Sharpton being interviewed last night? He said that a decision has not been made on Amy Pascal as of yet but talked of the white domination of Hollywood and how a long term program (so to speak) must be worked out.

In other words... one check isn't going to do this time. This is going to need to be a long term investment by Pascal and Sony to Sharpton.

Clearly this event will be the end of Western civilisation, such as it is.

Outside of your tomfoolery.... what do you think it means?

except it wasn't Sony that first decided to not release the movie. It was movie theatres not wanting the responsiblity of added security because of terrorist threats made to the theatres that played it.

Now, in toronto there's a guy who's going to play the movie. So it's the movie is being released...

I think it means that Sony chose the path of least potential liability. That's what corporations do. Their job is to make money, not moral stands.

My take on that was that these theaters were more concerned about being hacked as well. I know they said they were concerned about patron safety but I bet AMC Theaters, Showcase Theaters, etc. were more concerned with having all their emails exposed, finances read, malware, etc.

Just an opinion.

Agreed.

I meant going forward.

Sony 'made a mistake' axing The Interview, Obama says
FBI says North Korea to blame for hack attack on Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures "made a mistake" when it pulled its comedy The Interview from theatres, following a cyberattack that investigators have blamed on North Korea, according to U.S. President Barack Obama.

"We cannot have a society in which some dictator someplace can start imposing censorship here in the United States," Obama said, during his year-end news conference.

"If somebody is able to intimidate folks out of releasing a movie, imagine what they start to do when they see a documentary they don’t like, or news reports they don’t like," he said.

I doubt Kim Jong Un wants to give the US a reason to end his party. China isn't very impressed by them anymore and a terrorist attack on US soil? They would be so done.
