Do you know how contagious cholera is? It spreads like wildfire.Only people stupid enough to eat raw fish eggs collected in from of a shit pipe.

They should quarantine the whole of Vancouver Island. If it gets onto the mainland all hell could break loose..... 5000 Cholera victims buried on this little island off of Quebec City, alone. There are several other "plague pits" around Montreal that hold many thousands more. I believe that Dominion Square is built over one.

360° O bouy.
Never raced on the West Coast. The Great Lakes, St.Lawrence River and a little bit in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and off of Nova Scotia, for me. ... oh, and here and there in New England, a little.
You have two races that have a reputation out this way. One is the "Driftsure" (I will say no more) and the other is the Victoria to Maui, which sounds like a super awesome survival contest. If I were younger and not broken ...?

Swiftsure. For real sailors.Something Lakers don't want to fukk with.
.
Tell us about your experiences on the Lakes. I sail on the only safe one. They are graveyards.
Small, mostly round. Booring as shit unless there is a good wind coming in one of the valleys.Good for waterskiing though.
I'm 20 minutes away from a lake the same size as the Okanogan with plenty of wind.
My nephew sail boards and holy shit is he fast. It makes water skiers look like they ate standing still. I want to give it a try this summer.
So, you've never sailed on the Great Lakes? Erie is seriously fecking dangerous. Georgian Bay, up where Danbones lives, is too. Thank gawd they don't have to contend with tides. Lake Superior is a whole lot like the North Atlantic, although the wavelengths are (somewhat) shorter.
Do you need to use one of those parachute type things to keep from being blown across the lake when fishing?
Whomever came up with those deserves a medal.
Lake Diefenbaker? That one should have nice winds.
That's it! give the Phonicians a post humus medal. It's called a "sea anchor" and it probably goes back to the Phoenicians.
Last Mountain.
Diefenbaker is 100 miles from here. We lived on Diefenbaker for 2 years and yeah it gets windy hence the need for the drift parachute.
I liked living there (Palliser Park near Riverhurst) but my wife and daughter hated it.
The steelhead fishing is second to none.
