Not around here. We had a conservative MP for many years. Then the boundaries changed and we have had the unfortunate result of a NDPee MP. I don't recall a Liberal on my end of the island in the over 40 years I have lived here. Not sure about down south.
That’s pretty much a carbon copy of what happened in the south Okanagan, but our NDP MP has been fairly productive even without a party in power in Ottawa. He’s in his third term now, the competition just can’t seem to come up with anyone of his calibre. There are plenty of people around who prefer to vote the candidate and not the party.

That is how I would prefer it. And to be honest none of our candidates were much to look at.Our NDPee MP abandoned her job as mayor of Tofino to run for MP.and I don't much like this ship jumping. Also she put tourism ahead of resource jobs for the locals.

Of course , but we still live in Canada and a preponderance of our friends neighbours and country men lend the liberal party their ears . It has never gotten us anything but servitude, but what can one do other then pay what is due .
If they voted for turdOWE they are not my friend or countrymen.

Taking for granted that conservative voters in Northern Ontario and the west will support him by default .
That’s a mistake that’s been made before. The last election should have been a slam dunk for the Conservatives but voters have changed. Environmental issues are taking up a lot more space in people‘s minds and the Cons’ promise to scrap the carbon tax with nothing but vagueness to replace it with was interpreted as being soft on environmental reform, something they have a reputation for. Add to that the rest of their platform consisted only of “Let’s get Trudeau” and there wasn’t much left to vote for. The party faithful brought them close, but right wing politics took a beating with the Trump presidency. O’Toole sees the distinction in getting people to vote for the Conservatives as well as against the Liberals, and sees taking the party closer to centre as the ticket to power.

He may see that in southern Ontario , however it does not help him in the west . There will be other alternatives this go round . PPC and potential separatist parties will siphon off his support .
