What is the justification? Will they provide a express lane at least? Canada should reciprocate and charge a $20 entry fee into Canada since at least 20 times more Yanks come to Canada than vice versa.

This is an old thread. The DTOPS decal for commercial trucks
that cross often is now over $400 annually, & so the $5.50 fee
mentioned has also jumped several times. It's just a fact of life
in commercial cross border transportation.
It's now $13.50 in USD to cross the border, and factor in the
exchange rate, multiple that by all foreign trucks crossing the
border, each trip, and it becomes chunky money.
They're collecting it to build a wall!
Yeah, but not a physical wall. I'm not sure where this fits into NAFTA, but
it is what it is....
I say waive that entry fee to some enterprising Canadian who opens up a chain of low cost poutine hash houses.
You would say that, you think it's funny, wait till we get there. True North Strong and Expensive. When we get into the warmer latitudes we get crazy.![]()

American Bacon is three times easier to come by on this continent. Quess what's for breakfast?
The question is: why on earth do folks need such big homes to begin with?? Perhaps Canadians need to get a lot more realistic. about what we really NEED......as opposed to want. It is time to get creative and innovative. As the US continues t deteriorate ....it is going to get ugly. (uglier)Huge security is going to surround the U.S. - Canada border .....
As the U.S. Empire collapses, there will be a zillion Canadians attempting to enter America just to keep warm in the Southern States. The cost of heating large homes during the winter months in Canada will be prohibitive.
