Most everybody I know is happy to be on this side of the border, but I'm happy that JT decided to remain quiet on the Trump subject, whether good or bad. It was the smart thing to do. Not certain about Trump, but some people hold grudges.

I think Justin would be very wise to pay close attention to Trump and try to absorb some of his wealth of knowledge (and put his camera away while doing so.) :)

You mean, he can be a lying, bombastic, narcisistic braggart, too?

Northern Ontario,
Flossy's overwhelming majority in the thread header must be the same overwhelming majority of 39.5% that Trudeau won with at the last election, versus Harper barely squeaking in with 39.62% in 2011.....

Typical Leftard mathematics......

Good think he wasn't running against Mitt Romney.

Hillary got a lot less votes than Obama as well. She pretty much under performed him no matter how you look at it. County by County, state by state, or total vote. People clearly disliked her more than Trump.

She got less votes than a Black guy with a Muslim middle name from Kenya. That speaks volumes about her likeability......

He has run one of the lousiest presidential campaigns ever. In saying so I am not referring to his much-criticized business practices or his vulgar remarks about women. I mean this in a purely technical sense: this man fractured his own party. His convention was a fiasco. He had no ground game to speak of. The list of celebrities and pundits and surrogates taking his side on the campaign trail was extremely short. He needlessly offended countless groups of people: women, Hispanics, Muslims, disabled people, mothers of crying babies, the Bush family, and George Will-style conservatives, among others. He even lost Glenn Beck.

She was the Democratic candidate because it was her turn and because a Clinton victory would have moved every Democrat in Washington up a notch. Whether or not she would win was always a secondary matter, something that was taken for granted. Had winning been the party’s number one concern, several more suitable candidates were ready to go. There was Joe Biden, with his powerful plainspoken style, and there was Bernie Sanders, an inspiring and largely scandal-free figure. Each of them would probably have beaten Trump, but neither of them would really have served the interests of the party insiders.

There's a big problem with the criteria of the popular vote. It only concern # of people. It has no consideration with any of the other aspects. To bear this out just remove one large city from the mix eg. N.Y. or L.A or Chicago and it may tell a different story. I think quibbling over 0.31% is both petty and childish if you are going to ignore the other factors. Popular vote favours large densely populated areas.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, cause a bigoted, misogynistic, self admitted sexual predator is DEFINITELY the best choice out of 300 plus million people to run one of the most powerful nations in the world.

Where the hell did I say anything even approaching that? That Trump (or Hillary) was anywhere near the best choice? If you had read anything I've written on trump, you'd know I agreed that he is "a bigoted, misogynistic, self admitted sexual predator" and a liar and a moron to boot. But he is now the President, fairly elected, and one should for a moment stand back and let him work. You can jump all over him if/when he screws up.

Gerry.....attack me for what I say, fine. I would, however, appreciate if you would refrain from putting words in my mouth that I never said, and that I strongly disagree with, and then attacking me on that basis.

Indeed but there is one thing everyone is overlooking, he is a builder.

Everyone agrees there is a desperate need for infrastructure.

Trump knows the price of concrete, rebar, aggregates, equipment and labour to cost jobs.

America could be getting the most bang for their buck and a faster cheaper return to "greatness".

Now, if he'd only pay his suppliers for them, now and again ...
