Simple fact is that US people have been involved in more "friendly fire" incidents than anyone else, so it's a good bet that it was a US round that killed the guy. I don't see them blaming anyone yet.Oh really? Well it looks like you guys are picking up on that hobby as I don't see them blaming the US Military. That would tell me that it is a fellow Canadian that killed this soldier. I am sure it will be brushed under the rug because freindly fire is usually in conjunction with the US.
As I said, it's a pretty good bet.Gilbert
Doesn't matter if CBC isn't writing out the cause of death of this young soldier.... they have already conditioned the nation to believe it was probably a U.S. "friendly fire" incident.
Yeah, it couldn't be because of an aggressive factor or a trigger-happy factor. Hello ........Could it be that there are more battlefield killings of allied forces by the U.S. because there are more U.S. military in the ME... hello.
As I said, the odds are ..........Good fella - keep your mind wired shut.... that'll get er done

You are right EagleSmack, we Canadians are every bit as stupid as you Americans, I won't be brushing it under the rug, when the rest of the story comes out we will no doubt find out it was a guy he played with in Stellarton a few short years ago.

Everyone was led to the "trough" by the always "implying" CBC....in their article which said nothing about the cause of the death...
Reuters could care less apparently.... and CTV has already reported the source of the gunfire...

OTTAWA, March 6 (Reuters) - A Canadian soldier taking part in an offensive against Taliban militants in southern Afghanistan was killed on Tuesday and unconfirmed reports say he may have been accidentally shot by one of his colleagues, CTV television said.
No one was immediately available for comment at the Defence Department. If the report is confirmed it would be the 45th soldier Canada has lost in Afghanistan since sending troops to the war-torn country in 2002.
Canadian soldiers are taking part in a NATO offensive against the Taliban that began on Tuesday.
huh?
Try making a little sense to give me SOMETHING to go on.
Maybe it was those aliens from Nova Scotia that you were talking about.

I think you guys all got into some bad weed up there.... what a bunch of paranoia.....O Canada!
Just yesterday everyone was applauding Bill Maher for offering that Dick Cheney should be assassinated.... now you are all sobsisters about a military fella who got killed by one of his own...
trying desperately to blame the U.S. military....
What a buncha doilies ...
It says that he was shot in his tent.
I didn't know US troops and Canadian troops bivouac together. Now don't try to talk to me about the velocity of an M-16 round.
You KNOW and I KNOW it was a Canadian that did it. If it wasn't you all would be calling for the US Soldiers head. Now... you are reaping what you sow. Your very own Blue on Blue to a nation that critisizes everyone else.
Everyone?Just yesterday everyone.........
Any evidence he was killed by one of his own? Any evidence pointing to anyone yet?was applauding Bill Maher for offering that Dick Cheney should be assassinated.... now you are all sobsisters about a military fella who got killed by one of his own...

Handcrafts?What a buncha doilies ...
Gee says on the box of a buncha .22 rounds here that the rounds are dangerous within a mile.It says that he was shot in his tent.

Prove it.I KNOW it was a Canadian that did it.
Granted. Sometimes it is a good thing: sometimes not (see Iraq, VietNam, El Salvador, and the ultimate in examples of "friendly fire" - the war between the states). That is because we are the only ones who put as many boots on the ground and planes in the air. Maybe that is a good thing (See Rawanda)
I saw some key words in there, too: like "unconfirmed reports" and "may have been".Well there you go!
Colleague is a nicer way than saying "another Canadian Soldier"
