Canadian Military Operating in Iraq. Good or Bad?

Should members of JTF-2 have participated in the raid to free Canadian hostages in Iraq?

RE: Canadian Military Ope

I finished second behind Colpy, he won because of the St. John thing , you know the big village Idiot thing , more community support and better training. I come from a small village we do O/K in the traditional
stuff like nose picking and drolling shakes and jitters and the like, but St John really did a good job this year and thier team could do everything nekkid with thier arses in flames. They have a stadium too,
we have to train outside in the snow and traffic.

The Screech is O/K but the fiddle is the devils work.I'm an unsophisticated village idiot and wouldn't know high class fiddle music from the sound of unanathesiated open heart surgery.

Anyways, back on topic. It should be of some comfort to the other Canadian members of NGOs in Iraq that their home country is putting forth such efforts to help in their release in the event they too are kidnaped. As for the CPT the "christian" thing to do would have been to thank their rescuers.

Alright I have said repeatedly we should not be in Iraq. At the time I still think I was right.
Having said that the situation in Iraq has changed, ISIS is an ideological group with the
destruction and world domination in their sites. They are really fighting on the basis of a
Caliphate envisioned in around 600ad. To keep it short it is a Muslim version of the end
times nonsense. No its not real but its real to them and that is what the problem is.
We can no longer sit by and watch from the sidelines. No matter how peaceful we want to
be reality is that we fight or for the first time cut and run. If we leave the Middle East and
have to come back in later we could be emotionally shunned by other nations. Don't think
its a big deal? Belgium left the field when Leopold I believe withdrew from war. It didn't
save that country in the end and it left a bad taste in the mouths of the rest for decades.
Learn from history. You can't stand four square with Paris and run at the same time.
I don't like it, the situation being what it is there is no choice however in my view.

If you've ever driven on highway 95 heading north from Vegas to Tonapah Nevada you'd get an idea what that nasty desolate place in the world looks like. Don't know nothing about this old topic but I feel for the people who have to go there for any reason and especially for the women and children who have to live in that shythole.

Update: the soldier that had a bomb drop him wasn't at the 'forward position calling in the fighters', truth or a fib it doesn't help him so the difference must be some other motivator.

That's assuming it was good back then. btw . . . perspective and all that. Must have been special to remember it that long for better or worse.
