Haha. Well, did you notice the person who picked Randy has never watched before this season? I think if I never watched before, I might have to choose Randy, too - it's slim pickins.
That comment was bizarre - 20 votes in five minutes? That's four votes a minute. That's no better than regular phone voting. Probably worse, considering you have redial. I'm sure I've put in more than 20 votes in five minutes, on the old house phone, here.
I want to weigh in on something - all this, "it doesn't matter if you win Idol" talk, I keep a-hearin' about. Let's ask Tim Urban if it matters to win - or Didi - or Siobhan. Would they object to a record contract, a single promoted to radio, concert tours, etc.? I doubt it very much. And this applies to the vast majority of non-winners from all the seasons. Even some very talented ones.
Even Archie, who's popular - would he have been worse off if he won? - even if the franchise ended up promoting Cook more? Or, would Cook have been better off had he not won? I can't see how. Seems to me winning is pretty important. The rest is a lot of talk. Oh, on occasion - but very infrequently - Idol, for whatever reason - likes promoting other people. But even then, the winners have usually done much better than most of their fellow contestants. So is it important to win? I'd say yes. What do you think?
