I know - I always think that about her (and performers like her). Plus, she keeps falling off her shoes, or something. Have you been reading that?

Crystal - She has talent and I don't hate her, never did, but I just never really liked her. I'm kind of indifferent to her. Also, I think she has a very *healthy* ego, which puts me off.

No, LOL - she's falling off her shoes? I don't mind a show. Entertainment is what it's about afterall, but I'd like a little more of a focus on music than what muppet she might be wearing. I loved her AMA performance, but when it's all performance art.. it's just so tiring.

I always liked her voice, just not as much as I want to if you know what I mean. I want her to blow me away. I might be expecting too much from a new artist.

I really liked the episode tonight. I thought all the performances were strong. Maybe it's just that after watching the hockey game, Idol felt relaxing, LOL. Even Jacob didn't bug me as much as usual (but go home please Jacob, it's your time). I could go into details, but it's kind of late and I don't really feel like it. I thought they were all good, but yeah, it's not really exciting or anything.

What I disliked about tonight's episode: Randy. So useless. Oh and Randy, Scotty is still running away with this, it doesn't matter if you declare James the winner right now.

Haley is still my favorite overall. I thought Casey brought her down during their duet and I thought she deserved some more credit for her solo performance. I loved her vocals, at the end of the song especially.

Randy was soooooo annoying. I was going to comment on it, but my post was already longer than Gone With The Wind. That shouting - cripes, just SHUT THE F UP, Randy. It's not even enthusiastic, it's just - loud. And he's also completely useless, yeah. Funny thing is he can be observant sometimes. There are glimmers. But he can't express it, usually.

And what was he trying to say? "You turned a new leaf"? When he said, "you turned the other cheek," I mean.

Oh, there is something I want to add. I pretty much hate the way they pimp James (not because I dislike him, but because it's not subtle at all), but I think that what he did tonight was as close to a "moment" as we're going to get this season. I thought the beginning of the song was SO good. But then the band kicked in and it sounded super cheesy. I wish they would have kept the instrumentation to a minimum so we could really concentrate on James' voice. I've honestly never heard the original, so I don't know what it sounds like, but that arrangement they used tonight completely took me out of James' performance and left me with a WTH? feeling.

Kara DioGuardi has shocked fans by detailing her traumatic youth in a new book, alleging she was molested as a child and date-raped during the early years of her career.
The former American Idol judge has written a candid new autobiography, named A Helluva High Note, in which she opens up about her troubled past.
In the tome, she claims she was molested as an 11-year-old and recalls one incident which still haunts her, writing, "On one particular day, he took me into the back shed of his house and put his hands all over my breasts and vagina. I remember freezing and not knowing what to do."
DioGuardi also reveals she suffered another traumatic experience as an adult, alleging she was sexually assaulted around 11 years ago following what she thought was a friendly dinner date. She claims she told the unnamed man to stop, but was too scared to fight back in case he became violent.
She writes, "Within a few hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating, and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand."
The book is out on April 26.

I don't like the arrangements this season. I haven't analyzed it too much, it just has an overblown quality. I didn't pay too much attention to the band, with James - but I noticed he got loud, so probably that's why? I didn't feel what you felt about his almost having a moment. I did think Scotty might have been going to have one, but it fizzled.

I have to add - with Scotty, does anyone else think it's weird how he's a country singer who plays guitar, and they hardly ever let him play it? To me he doesn't seem like the type of artist who sits on a stool singing ballads, or who "takes the stage," but I can picture him playing guitar and singing - didn't he do this in an earlier performance? I just think he looks like he's not being totally natural, up there.

The Shirelles sang Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.

OK, so about James. I've always found James entertaining. He sings the kind of music I like but he seemed a bit phony at first. He's gotten better over the weeks though. I thought last week's performance of Uprising by Muse was almost better than the original and last night's performance of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" was amazing too.

OK, that said, what the hell is with Randy declaring him the winner last night? That's basically what he said. He got up and hugged him and announced he was going to win. He might as well have put a crown on his head.

No one else was as good as James last night. Scotty tried to do something different but still threw the cartoonish country twang and failed, I think. Lauren sang another song that sounded like Miley Cyrus. You could tell that Jennifer Lopez thought it wasn't good but stuttered when she said the opposite. Jacob was boring. Casey's gratuitous growling and "NNNnn"s are starting to bug me. There's a time and a place of that and it's not every song after every line. Haley chose a bad song but she still made it good. I'm still waiting for her to break it out again. But Stephen said he saw God? Umm, wasn't that good! Casey and Haley were both better together than they were apart. Scotty and Lauren were bleh and I think Stephen summed up Jacob and James best.

I'm thinking Jacob or Casey get the boot tomorrow. I like Casey but I don't think he can hold on much longer. But then again I was wrong about Stephano for weeks.

Ugh! What will it take for Jacob to go home?

Not that I'm that much surprised about Casey though. Yay for Haley though!

Did they want to make fun of Jimmy? All his predictions were wrong. Casey was the only one he said would be "safe" (well he did say that James could win IF he made the right song choices). All the ones he said were in jeopardy were safe. I hope Jimmy is not particating in your pool SleepinIn, he wouldn't have a lot of points!

Crystal was fine and her song was okay. Not something I'm dying to buy though. And she wasn't allowed to talk to Ryan it seems, he made her hug the contestants.

I guess Haley has read all the good comments Adam has been saying about her, she named him first when she answered the viewer question!

Oh and I have to say I have nothing against Bruno Mars, but during his performance I could only concentrate on the dog that was on the sofa! And I could actually tell that his performance was edited from at least two different takes, because in one take the dog is laying his head on the sofa and in the other its head was up (and at one point it seemed completely transfixed by the drummer!).

I love dogs!

I only saw half of it honestly. I forgot Idol was on.. oops! :) I thought it came across pretty well for something I'm not that interested in buying. (snap) She does have a lot of props though. I hate that they don't talk to them.. we spent an Idol year with them. At least talk to them.

Ha! Yes. She tweeted him back when he said he liked her last week. :)

I love dogs!

Did you celebrate #zorroday? Lmao.

Jacob!!! Who is voting for him???

I know what you're saying, but my opinion is that what he does, he does pretty well. I mean, his style of music - he does it pretty well. For me to groove to him, he'd have to be a totally different type, but I don't think he sucks. I think that offstage he seems like a kind of an ass, at times - onstage, as well, actually. But he doesn't actually blow.

Now I have to ask you guys: what do you think of this Top 5? How much better are they than Lee-Crystal-Casey-Mike-Aaron? Are the front runners, Durbin and McCreery, really better than last year's front runners? (I'm not saying they're worse, but are they better??)

So Casey went home? I missed the show. I always think of the "judges' save" contestants: they got the lowest number of votes, not just one time, but twice. It's like, "We want you to go home." Then, later: "Okay, now we really, really want you to go home. Why are you still here? Go home, already."

ETA: Almost forgot - I was in the hospital seeing my doctor today (because he had to do rounds) and while I was waiting, I eavesdropped (I had no choice) on three nurses who started talking about Idol.

"Are you watching Idol?"
"Yes, wasn't James great last night?"
"The guys are great this year."
"Don't you love Steven Tyler?"
"He's awesome."
"Did you watch Dancing With The Stars? Pia was on it."
"Oh, she went too soon!"
"She shouldn't have been voted off!"
"She's so good!"
"They say she's going out with one of the dancers on that show, you know."
"Really?"
"The ones who don't win, do great, anyway."
"Oh, I know, I'll never forget when Chris Daughtry was eliminated! I cried!!"
"And look how well he's doing!"

No, I don't think they're better.

#zorroday?? I didn't know such a day existed. Oh and I love dogs, but I kind of love only cute dogs (yes, I'm shallow like that). And French Bulldogs? Well, they're kind of ugly, IMO.

To be honest. I like Haley a LOT more than I liked any of last year's top 5. And honestly I do think the rest of them are better than last year. But then I never really liked Mike, Casey and Aaron all that much. I think this bunch is solid, there's no real trainwreck happening and I've been enjoying them although the meddling from the producers is getting to me a bit.

Did you guys watch Idol Party?! It was good stuff. :)

So Casey went home? I missed the show. I always think of the "judges' save" contestants: they got the lowest number of votes, not just one time, but twice. It's like, "We want you to go home." Then, later: "Okay, now we really, really want you to go home. Why are you still here? Go home, already."

Go. Shoo. I'll miss his musicality, but I really wanted to hear more of Casey's singing. He got caught up in the growl, which while fun, is hard on the ears at times. I will definitely miss him tho.

You're dog-sist! LOL Kris's website declared today #Zorroday (who knew?) because of his big photoshoot. Zorro's so funny he's cute to me. Those big ears!!

Yes, me too. Well, I liked Lee at the beginning, but I was kind of done with him at that point. And while I don't necessarily think that James/Scotty are better than Lee/Crystal, I think the top 5 this year is probably a bit stronger in general. Aside from Jacob, I can say I've enjoyed James, Scotty, Lauren and Haley way more than Casey, Mike and High School Student Aaron Kelly (he really made the top 5?).

Go. Shoo. I'll miss his musicality, but I really wanted to hear more of Casey's singing. He got caught up in the growl, which while fun, is hard on the ears at times. I will definitely miss him tho.

Yes, I agree. Even though I didn't always love what Casey was doing, I could at least appreciate some aspects of his performances. With Jacob, even if I try to be objective, my ears are like "No. WTF? NO, we are not listening to that". I don't think he's even that good in his genre because he often finds himself losing control of a melody or losing control of the notes. His last note last night was super flat and it happens often that he sounds like ass. And he's got to control the faces. I almost appreciated what he did last night because he wasn't pulling those dramatic faces (BTW, Casey also has to learn to control his face).

Yeah! I watched Idol Party! :D :D :D

I was happy when Jim said he doesn't get Casey. I second that emotion.

I couldn't watch the whole thing. Unfortunately, I was at work, and I was listening on headphones, and I must have seemed crazy laughing out loud (at Kris. He really makes me laugh. He's actually witty, not just funny).

Plus, he seems to have no idea where he's performing, for Music Empowers, or when. I hope he remembers to show up. lol

What did I miss? I couldn't watch it all. Album talk - Idol faves - Matthew Morrison - Lyndsey Parker on Casey.

Hey, I had a chihuahua when I was a kid (well, kid, tween, teen, and young adult). He was very cute, I'll have you know! Hmph.
