Cool news (if it's not just a rumor) that Matthew Morrison's CD will include a Kris co-write with Frampton and Kipner (LLWD). I don't know anything about Glee or Matthew Morrison, though.

I forget the title - I just read about it on MJ's blog.

that's really good news!! I hadn't planned on buying it, but I can fork over a buck for that song. since it was written by the same folk who wrote LLWD and WAOMF + Kris the odds are good on liking it. Anyway more€£$ for Kris so yay!

I didn't want to lose youuuu
Leave you with a broken heart
But wherever we are
We're miles apart
I know that we tried
But this is the last goodbye
Ooooooooooh
I didn't want to let you goooo
But wherever we are
We're miles apart
This is the last goodbye
Oh, Oh, Oooooh
Oh, Oh, Oooooh

You guys are not here so I'll sing!!! Ha Ha!

I must admit I kind of love TLG now, after hearing it live!!! I watched it 4 times. And I now know the chorus by heart (as you can see), I was singing along (loudly) in my living room! And now the song is stuck in my head... such an earworm!

Okay, okay, I still find the song generic and all that, but hearing it live made me like it way more, as predicted.

I loved everything about David's presence on the show: the focus on the other guys in the band, Steven Tyler mouthing "he's really good" to Jennifer and Randy after his performance, David's mom with Steven, etc.

Stefano is gone? Oh well. Too bad it wasn't Jacob.

WTH was that performance from Katy Perry? I guess Katy and her team have never heard of the saying "less is more".

Really cool for Kris BTW the song on Matt Morrison's album!

Oh, Oh, Ooooooh
Oh, Oh, Ooooooh

Yay for Cook! Yay for his Mom! Haha. And yay for missaddicted! I was just thinking - all the time I knew you on the other forum, I don't think I ever knew you were a Cook fan. I knew you liked Greg Neufeld. And you had good taste in music. Well - have I ever said - I'm glad you followed me over here?

WTH was that performance from Katy Perry? I guess Katy and her team have never heard of the saying "less is more."

I don't know why, but I never liked her much - though she used to be, in my mind, a kind of cute girl who sang cute and sometimes slightly naughty songs - in a fairly simple way. But what was that Lady Gaga act she was doing? Or whatever it was.

I wasn't here because first I was at work, and then I had to watch the show, that I recorded.

I like the Durbin-Stefano friendship. It doesn't remind me of Kradam, like it does for some people, it actually reminds me more of Shane and Jacob, a bit, for some reason. Anyhow, I thought Stefano did a classy exit.

Aww! I'm glad I followed you here too! *hugs ross* *hugs SleepinIn as well*

I'm pretty sure that during CI6, I mentionned that I loved David Cook on the other forum, but probably only once, I didn't want to talk too much about AI in the CI forum!

Yeah, the James-Stefano bromance is sweet! I like it as well!

BTW, did you like David's performance ross?

Yes, I liked it a lot better live than as a record, actually. I thought he seemed a little nervous (did you?) - not that he shouldn't be. So I thought he maybe sounded a little hoarse - but overall, great job. A lot at stake - I think he knows that and yet he's a pro and it's just another performance, something he's done thousands of times. So he just goes ahead and gets the job done. I love Cook. And I loved his mother. lol (By the way, thanks to you, I know the guys in his band, which is cool - I would never have, otherwise)

Yes, David did seem nervous and a little hoarse to me as well. And yeah, since it's the first time they were performing the song live in front of an audience, I don't blame him. And I still remember when he sang LO on SNL in November 2008, there he pretty much looked terrified and he was apparently even dry-heaving before the show. So even though he says that he feels comfortable on the Idol stage, I'm sure performing you new song for the first time in front of 20 million people is stressful!

Cool about the band. I appreciate these guys a lot. Of course, I know that they have a lot of benefits from performing in David's band ($$$), but still, these guys kind of put their respective individual musical projects on hold (well, they're still working on them, but probably not as much) to support their friend. I mean, Neal was involved in a more hard-rock band (which is probably the music he prefers doing) but when David asked him to be there to record on his first album and be part of his band, Neal left everything and joined his BFF. I'm pretty sure that if you had told Neal a few years ago that he would perform on the Idol stage at least 4 times, he would have laughed in your face! So, I know these guys probably appreciate the steady gig, but they do it whole-heartedly and do everything to support David.

David did several phone interviews today... I grabbed some information on twitter, since I didn't listen to any (how do the other fans have time to do this and find the time to work and do life-stuff, I don't have the time!!!). He said that Simon Fuller asked him like a year ago if he wanted to do this year's boot song.

Also, we now know several song titles from This Loud Morning. TLG of course. Paper Heart, which is the song he performed in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Goodbye to the Girl, which is a song he co-wrote with Neal and Andy from the band. And today, he said that the first song on the album is called Circadian (definitely very Cook-ian as a title, seriously, LOL). And the last song is called R.E.M. for Rapid Eye Movement. The title of the album comes from a lyric in this song.

Fans of course analysed the album cover and the main observation is that there are a lot of symbols of mourning in the picture (what David is wearing, etc). And also the obvious This Loud Morning (Mourning). He said that he talks a lot about some fresh open wounds on the album. So he probably wrote a lot about his brother's passing.

Gosh, I hope you guys won't be tired of all this Cook stuff by the end of June! A new album coming out is always exciting.

Talking about exciting, I just upgraded my pre-order of the album from DCO. They're offering some deluxe packages coming with the album:

David's exclusive new Fan Edition includes the This Loud Morning Deluxe CD/DVD along with an exclusive EP featuring never-before-heard acoustic performances of several songs from This Loud Morning! And just like every album pre-order made on David's official store, you'll get an instant download of David's new single, "The Last Goodbye" and his critically acclaimed cover of Simple Mind's "Don't You (Forget About Me)."

Plus, as a special thanks to his tremendous fans, David's going to include the names of those who pre-order the Fan Edition in the packaging of the Acoustic EP! But hurry up and place your order today as we can only fit so many names!

There were other deluxe packages that were including a t-shirt, a poster and even a signed guitar by David and something to hang it on the wall! I'll be fine with the acoustic EP and the DVD, yay! Oh and they wouldn't even fit in my whole name to put in the packaging of the EP, LOL. Only put my first name and the first letter of my last name.

LOL. I decided to go to TWoP read the episode thread for tonight and all the comments about David are about, yes, you guessed it, his hair. People don't know what they want. Before he was "baldy", he didn't have enough hair, and now, he has too much? Ha! David can't escape people talking about his hair whatever he does with it.

I was just thinking the other day about the fringe benefits of being in the band of an Idol, though. You may want to be doing your own music - like in Kris's band, Ryland and Torres - but you get all the fringe benefits - you get to meet a huge number of celebs of the music and show worlds. I mean, I don't know for a fact, but I doubt Torres ever came near all the music icons, before, that he has with Kris. The amazing bands and artists they've played with on tour and in the radio concerts, the Idol finale, the talk shows, etc. Adam Levine, Keith Urban, John Mayer, Sara Bareilles, Johnny Reznick, even Bieber. I mean, just to get to tell people you've met all these celebs - kind of an incredible life.

Gosh, I hope you guys won't be tired of all this Cook stuff by the end of June! A new album coming out is always exciting.
I DO NOT MIND if you talk about David Cook! That is all. It's informative and/or fun.

Interesting. I like stuff like this. Poor Dave, so hard for him, I'm sure. Life goes on, though.

LOL about the hair.

Hugs to you guys too. :) it's nice to see you so excited about David's CD Missaddicted, it's been so long and I know you've been nervous about it. I'm kinda jealous that one of David's options is an acoustic EP (take some notes Kris) that's so awesome!!! I loved that they mentioned David's walk for his brother tonight and his Mom was adorable. they did good

buh bye Stefano and thanks for all the points :)

Ironiy of ironies that Kris didn't get an acouostic EP, and I think it would have sold, but maybe things happen for a reason, or for the best. Kris is sometimes rather unfairly pegged an "acoustic" artist, and even the other day, the writer who said good stuff about Shut That Door (not the NY Post guy) referred to Kris trading his "coffee house" style for a new sound, even though he's played with a five man band for almost two years, in clubs, theatres, arenas, and other large and small venues that in no way resemble coffee houses. So maybe he needed (or needs, still) to distance himself from an acoustic rep - for a while. Not that that it's intentional - as far as I know - but it might be good, for now, anyway.

Wooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Hoooooooooooo!

I just read bits of Stefano's see-ya-later-alligator press conference...oh, he's going to have a hard fall back into reality. I hope I'm wrong maybe Interscope will do things differently for them, but yikes.

Could you briefly summarize what Stefano said?

let's just say that they asked him why he didn't play piano on the show and his answer was he didn't want 20 million people to see him play a cover, he wanted to see them play his music. He also mentioned not wanting to win...oh, so many annoying things...lol

I want to go back a few pages and see what I wrote about Stefano - when I said something about his possibly being ... well, I forget. Arrogant? That wasn't it...

I think I may have said he could possibly be kind of a cocky jerk.

Anyhow - the cast seems to love him - so maybe not. Though maybe they're also cocky jerks. lol

I think he's probably a nice enough guy. The problem is that Idol kind of sets these peeps up to think that they're going to support them more than they actually do. Although who knows, maybe this year will be different Interscope is a new label for them, they may be motivated to support more than Sony was. I'm cynical about it, but who knows. It makes for a hard fall into reality though. I don't know of anyone except Pia this year that was given super-press post elimination.

Lloyd Cele's cover of BWCU - not bad actually

I can't listen to Lloyd right now. Guess it didn't sink in for me, right away, but now I'm really digging how two of Kris's songs are being covered. Well, one covered, (Cele), one introduced (Matt Morrison). Awesome.

Do you guys like Ann Powers? I'm indifferent. Did you know her favorite this year is Jacob Lusk? I often take that kind of information and let it color everything else the writer says. Such as: "Hm. Pretty good point. But then...she also likes Jacob Lusk." lol

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/sns-lat-cmon-wouldbe-idols-take-the-leap-20110422,0,10261.story

"Crystal Bowersox, who's having a nice, Internet-fueled post-'Idol' career."

Crystal often gets good press/good spin, huh? I get Ann P's point - that Crystal is doing pretty well in an indie-type career - and is not a raging success. Fine.

But the media usually calls that failure. Unless it's Crystal. I feel she gets away with a lot. True, it's partly because half the time they forget she exists. But when she's mentioned it's usually in a positive light.

Personally? I totally agree with the idea that an artist being themselves and playing music their way is "success". It's the media that usually doesn't agree.

Other more successful (and just as artistic, if not more) ex-idols regularly get tagged failures or semi-failures by the same media. Yet they're also doing what they want to do/being who they are. And people seem to like them a lot more; they sell more CDs, have hit songs, tour like mad - whatever. Yet they're flops. Her sales have been more or less crap, for a popular front runner who almost won. Or for anyone. She has no radio presence, little media attention. Not a problem, folks - it's Crystal. She's successful at being Crystal.

I don't think this is really fair, but - whatever. You might say it's because she's not in pop, or HAC. And she doesn't want to be. So - different standards. But people regularly trot out arguments to topple other people that could be applied to her, as well, but never are. "What happened to all the people who voted for her?" "Why didn't they buy her album?" "Why do people vote for guys whose music doesn't represent what's on the radio now?" Why did they vote for a girl who's music doesn't represent that?
She's teflon.

Oh, yeah. I do that too. Rushfield as a Katie-stan kind of coloured his opinions in practically everything for me. LOL We all have our own tastes and when you know where the bias lies then you can kind of see if your opinions will line up elsewhere. Sometimes they do and sometimes they're way out in left field.

and yeah, Crystal is having a nice internet fueled career but Lee (who I don't really follow) is a flop because.. his songs.. hit top 40 but didn't hit number 1? We all have our spin, and pull it out for our faves but I actually think Lee is probably happy to have music being played on the radio and if people didn't keep telling him he was a flop he'd actually be super excited about it. (and maybe he still is) I don't know why we expect overnight success for any of these folk. Even Kelly and Carrie had to work at it... and hey they've been doing it for years now, no wonder they're more successful. Is this a hard concept to follow? LOL It's great to have the platform, but that's all it is. You can't sit up on the platform and expect things to happen. It takes work and time.

And yes, I'm excited about the two songs Kris has sent out into the world to fend for themselves. :) :)
