I think Kris must have won since he took on Miley. I also think the poll must end at 2 pm since the song challenge is called new at 2. It wouldn't make sense that it would keep going after they aired it on the radio. So all that frustrated voting... might have been wasted. LOL

Not sure what you mean. "New at 2"-- wouldn't that be the time they play the new song? Then the voting would begin afterwards? Anyhow, I don't see why they'd allow all that voting if it was invalid.

I always thought if I'd stop going to/posting at MJ's with any regularity, it would be because the comments pissed me off. Instead, the comments are just boring me. Now that season 8 is over and season 9 is almost over, I see no reason to be reading every day about Adam Lambert and his every move. Other than that, I guess the people who are left, over there, are mostly just not that interesting in what they have to say. I only skim the threads to try to find links, lately, and once in a while I respond to something. But less and less.

I kind of hoped the Collingwood show would cause some discussion to happen on The TWoP CI thread (our old alma mater), but it doesn't look like it. Seems to be true that without the actual show (CI) happening, there's not much to say. I really held out hopes CI would return, but it doesn't look good.

I didn't fill out the AI questionnaire. I haven't even looked at it. Should I?

There would be more to say if there was more of a presence in the media here for CI alumni. There just isn't. There's Jacob, there's Carly Rae, and there's sometimes Kalan. Everyone else is completely off the radar at the moment. I don't think it's coming back either. Especially after this season. Season 9 might have done CI in. Depending on the X Factor they might try with that, but they'll wait to see how it goes in the US. So we are out of luck chuck.

Yes! Tell them how much they suck. :) There's a lot of questions about the judges, and themes nights.

So Kris's main tour seems to be with the Barenaked Ladies. I'm glad he's opening for some other acts, as well as headlining some dates himself. I sat close to Kris and his band when they were watching Barenaked Ladies perform. They were leaning against a wall to the left of me. Like me, they weren't laughing a lot. Kris didn't laugh once. Anyhow, this is really not the most exciting gig. I thought Kris was going to get on a) a bigger, more popular tour, and b) tour with a more current act.

The thing with the Barenaked Ladies, and I know you're not really a fan, but they have a hugely loyal fan base. For me that's a huge plus as a potential audience for Kris. I've been a big fan of the band for a long time, and I think that was one of their first tour stops for them last year? I didn't see the show, so I don't really know how they were but I'm sure they've been feeling their way with Steve gone.

They had a really rough year, there was the drug arrest of their other singer, Ed crashed his plane, then the band broke up. So I can see if they weren't so funny in Boston.

and - LMAO, Kris has just pissed off half the twitter population. Oh, dear. He should really think and tweet sometimes. lol

No, it wasn't that they were less than funny. People thought they were hilarious. I just didn't get it, they're not my style of humor (and maybe not Kris's, either). I don't think it was a case of their doing a less funny show than usual. I feel bad they've had problems, but realistically, a band having a lot of problems may not be the best one for Kris to be hooking up with with at the beginning of his career if he wants his career to take off.

I also think of BNL as having mainly diehard fans, probably some older fans, also, and I don't know if that's the best kind of tour for Kris. Obviously the best would be with someone around his age, who's considered hot right now. The kind of concert people go to just because it's the thing to do, that is going to create buzz. (Bands with die-hard fans don't create a lot of buzz or get seen by a lot of people outside that orbit.) The next best kind would be with a superstar who attracts a wide audience. So that Kris is either associated with someone hot and current, or huge and very popular. BNL really don't fit either category. I kind of see them as a dead end where Kris is concerned.

I had no problem with him opening for them on a few dates but if they're going to be his main headliner all summer, well, I don't think that's exactly the most exciting gig he could have had, or one that's guaranteed to launch his career the biggest way possible, or with the best audiences for him. Sorry, just my opinion at the moment.

What did he say on twitter? I guess I'll have to log in and look it up...

Ha, Q posted this BNL interview yesterday
(talked about the elephant in the room, LMAO)

YouTube - The Barenaked Ladies on Q TV

I'm just a fan of them -- but whatever you don't have to be. :) They have a lot of fans and, so they'll get news coverage, and play bigger stages and for me that's a good thing for Kris.

What did he say on twitter? I guess I'll have to log in and look it up...

Hobbies of mine: playing music, hanging with friends, and watching middle aged women dance. Rhythm is nowhere to be found.

Oh Kris should be a good time tomorrow, lol

Supposedly you can hear an ad for Maroon5 and Kris but it didn't work for me.

I switched browsers and then it played for me. They just gave tour dates, and played Maroon 5 songs then said special guest Kris Allen and played LLWD in the background - which they didn't do for VV Brown. That should be a good show for Kris, Maroon 5 -- VV Brown is blowing up right now too with her Shark in the Water song.

^That was great -- and further proof Kris needs to sing without his guitar more often.

I guess I'm not a huge fan but I didn't mean to sound like I was putting them down. I know you're a fan and I respect that. I was just saying maybe they aren't the best headliner for Kris to open for, that's all. Guess I just can't get excited about it. It's not just me, nobody seems especially excited about it. I haven't read any posts that begin, "OMG!! Kris is opening for BNL!!" Anyhow, I'm willing to be proven wrong.

YESSSSS!

Wow, that's a nice crowd for Faber Drive!

LOL! Just me I guess. :) I`d like to see him tour with younger bands too, but looking at the people who are touring at the moment I just think they`re a pretty good fit, at least for some shows. They write their own music, and are pretty honest guys, and they have loyal fanbase in both fans and radio. So that`s the way I`m looking at it. It`s not that I think they are the perfect fit tourwise or anything, just that there are real potential positives.

I do realize that they are not the hottest band out there at the moment.. LOL They`ve never been that.
