I was not as enthused about Lilly as the judges were since she included some vocal flourishes that I didn't particularly enjoy, but I do enjoy her tone and her musicianship. I could see myself buying music from her.

The Scientist is one of my fav songs ever and almost had a spiritual experience (for a non-religious girl, it's something) when I saw Coldplay doing that song live and Katelyn didn't destroy it. I like the girl. I like her tone. Her performance wasn't perfect at all, she did look as though she was trying a bit hard and the rhythm was way too slow, but I still liked it.

Well, I thought the hip/hip replacement line was funny. lol (Glambert ageist jokes not funny. Okay. Got it.)

The thing with AI to me as entertainemt is that it's really hard to watch and listen to ten solo singers one right after the other. How can that not be boring? If it wasn't for those awesome Kris Allen/Ford commercials, I'd be asleep.

If this was Ed Sullivan, we'd at least get some jugglers, maybe a dog act, some dancers, or even Topo Gigio. (Look it up!)

It's even worse when they don't mix up the sexes. That's one thinig I preferred about last season. Ten girls in a row...it begins to run together.

I can see why X Factor might replace this. It has more variety.

Yeah, Crystal is an amazing singer. I don't think she's exactly my style, because, great as she is, she is indeed the type to sing in the subway. I don't mean that the way it sounds. Not an insult. It's just that she is that busker type, and that's never my style. I like a little more...show. Whatever Kris or Adam or Allison or Matt or Anoop are, they aren't the type to sing in the subway. When people have called Kris a coffeehouse singer, he isn't. He's more of a pop singer, an entertainer. Crystal is a pure singer, and a folky singer. Her voice is fantastic, but the vibe, though very pure and real, is a little bit dull, a little boring, to me. I don't need Adam in full regalia, but I do need some drama with my singing. I guess. Still, that voice that comes out of her...wow!

I think she was far and away the best, though, until Lilly, who I thought was equally good, or even better, since she is my kind of singer.

It's weird, because for me, Kris and Crystal are so similar. They know who they are as artists, they're real, they easily connect with their songs. I see their vibes as being really similar. I guess I see a lot more ressemblance between the two than you ross.

Paige was alright. Mostly, she was uninteresting to me, compared to some of the others.

I also want to say, I guess because I'm sort of sensitive in some ways, it's hard for me to watch this season without referencing last season. And I have to let it go, but I find myself getting insulted for Kris. Whenever the judges rave about someone being an artist, especially Simon, I still grit my teeth, going, "Why didn't they say that to...?" have to let it go. Can't really let it go.

Siobhan....

What a dingbat. She can sing, though I find something false about it. What? Like she's copying singing, rather than singing. Her tone is sort of...not flat, but not full-sounding, or something. I don't think I can describe it. It reminds me of Archie, actually. I don't expect anyone to understand that. Do you know what I mean, at all?
Please answer. I need answers. lol

Katie Stevens seems like someone Zack Werner and Jake Gold would rip to shreads. She'd be on the next bus back to Moose Jaw, if this were Canadian Idol.

Hi Risus! Thanks for your opinion!

I don't think I can describe it. It reminds me of Archie, actually. I don't expect anyone to understand that. Do you know what I mean, at all?

I'm not sure I do, sorry!

I think Siobhan has a really good voice and she was kind of endeering tonight, but talk about old-fashioned song choice. I don't want to hear an Aretha song on Idol. Never.

So, who will be the top 6 girls?

I find that question a bit harder than for the boys side. Crystal for sure. Siobhan as well. Lilly and Katelyn (I hope)? I thought Didi before, but I think she might be in danger. Michelle? Katie?

I think Haeley, Lacey and Paige won't probably make it to the top 12, but it's harder to judge from the girls' side. Or maybe it's just what I want. If I don't hear Lacey and Haeley again, I'll be happy.

Recap....Simon once again praised Crystal. And then even though Ellen she said earlier that Lilly was the best of the night, mentions only...Crystal.

It's weird, because for me, Kris and Crystal are so similar. They know who they are as artists, they're real, they easily connect with their songs. I see their vibes as being really similar.

Well, I actually think he's very versatile. He can do Rat Pack night and be a totally professional jazz-pop singer. He can sing country with Keith Urban. He can sing Heartless like the best r&b singer. He can sing Kanye, The Killers, Rob Thomas, etc., all in one set, play piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar. He's extremely creative as an artist. When people call him "coffeehouse guy with a guitar," they're totally missing the many sides of Kris's talent. It's like they're blind and deaf.

Crystal, on the other hand... I'm sure she'll show some versatility when the show gets going, but I think she's essentially a one genre singer.

So I must be mean. Nice and mean. Because I thought it was funny.

Okay, yes it is funny. I admit it. That being said, I don't think music should have an age, but maybe it's because of his music itself. My Dad has compared Adam to Elvis and Bowie, and I've seen that elsewhere. Elvis and Bowie are older.. ahem. Glam rock as a genre is a few decades ago.

Okay anyway. I think he'll pick up younger fans.. eventually.

Crystal: I'm so happy Crystal made it tonight and won't be DQ'd. I just love her voice and her vibe. I'd follow her to a subway.

Haeley: She's such a cutie, but man, she's got a voice but I agree with Kara she doesn't know what to do with it. It was painful.

Lacey: I am not a fan

Katie: She's funnier than I thought :) but her song choice as a younger song... Put Your Records On? Isn't that a throw back song? Doesn't scream youth vote to me.

Didi - I didn't love it. Just aight for me dog.

Michelle - So she could totally be friends with Kris. Total Creed fans the both of them. But all I wrote in my little book was "No" I also wrote it a 1000 times. I'm so on Randy's Island of no.

Lily - I just loved it. It sounded different and cool.

Catelyn: Okay the Scientist. I agree, one of my favourite songs and I'm totally jealous missaddicted that you saw it live. I didn't hate it but it got kinda boring and seemed a bit calculating.

Paige: I took a vote with myself and decided that I don't want anyone else to sing anymore Idol songs, or songs the other Idol's have done or a song that Kara has written. So me no like.

Siobhan:

My first thought. Is Siobhan on drugs? LMAO. She's nutty. I think I love her. She also gave me a Steffi D flashback, which isn't always a good thing but is always better than boring. Great voice, but not really my style of music.

Do you know what I mean, at all?

Nope, LOL.

So voting off the Island tonight. Haeley and Lacey.

My three picks would be Lilly, Crystal and Siobhan

I'd be down with that. I think those are my top three girls too.

Oh, and I loved the 3 amigos on the slopes, and David does Abbey Road - when was David in London Missaddicted?

I believe it's a bit early to tell, but I understand what you mean. I just don't really agree. And it doesn't take away anything from Kris when I compare them. It's all good to me! We'll see. (Bow-er-sox! Bow-er-sox!)

So voting off the Island tonight. Haeley and Lacey.

Yes, please.

What island?? What the hell are you talking about, SleepinIn?

Take away from Kris...no, I think you misunderstood me a bit. I was just trying to explain how I think they differ. Originally, what I said was that she isn't my type of singer, because I don't really like the busker type. I said I like people who also serve up a little bit of a performance. Who are more fun and entertaining, I guess.

But as to type, nope, I don't think Kris and Crystal are the same type of performer. But I can see certain similarities, like the secure aspect when they sing, knowing who they are as artists. But Kris is as much like Lilly as like Crystal.

OMG, Lmao. Jim compared the ski picture to Ferris Bueller's Day off. And he's RIGHT!! BWAH!

Cameron, Paige, and Ferris? Haha!!!

But I don't know what made him think of that. Maybe the "lost" scene from Ferris Bueller, where they went skiing. Because there are so many mountains in Chicago.

ETA: If you listen to Archie before and after that song...well, he's as goofy as Siobhan, and he has that "stuffy nose" voice. Okay, I didn't really expect anyone to get it.

What? You didn't get it? LOL You know.. the tribe has spoken.. you have been voted off the island. (Hint: Survivor reference)

Isn't there a scene where they try on clothes or something and Sloan is wearing sunglasses? Maybe when they went to lunch at the fancy restaurant. It reminded me of that.. hope it exists in reality and I'm not totally making up new movie scenes.

I think Lilly is actually a lot like Kris as well. And I like her too. I said that I wasn't taking anything away from Kris because you get really protective of Kris, so I didn't want to offend or something! I just feel like Crystal is so much better than the girls I could see on the subway (which I take everyday BTW, and I've never seen a girl as good as Crystal in there), so I guess I don't want to stereotype her into the busker type, because I do believe she's much more than that.

Sloan? Is that who I called Paige? Oops. Yeah, there is probably such a scene.

Speaking of John Hughes movies, Siobhan reminds me a bit of Ally Sheedy. Not in Breakfast Club, especially. Maybe St. Elmo's Fire. Not a John Hughes movie. But I needed a segue.

Oh, right, David in London! I forgot in my last post. David is in London right now. It's his first time in Europe. He was all excited this morning and kept tweeting what he was visiting. He told people to watch him on the webcam while he was crossing Abbey Road (and some took screencaps of that, lol). He's there to do some songwriting apparently, but I guess he had a day to do some sightseeing!
