"I call b.s."

Dude. I worked the job from 1989 to 1996. The starting wage was $11.50 per hour.

I drove by that same warehouse a couple of years ago before the Province raised minimum wages to $14 something per hour. The sign said "Jobs. Steel Toe Boots Required. $11.50 / hour."

I suppose you can argue I was overpaid in 1989, but again...where did all of that money in saved wages go over the last 30 years?

^ As you can see, it's paying a whopping $12.50 per hour.

So why is it so far-fetched that 2 years ago that same job in my city was paying $11.50 per hour?

Anyhoo, you're just a contradictory Princess and I'm done talking to you.

Fine but why complain if that isn’t your job ? As long as people will fill the position the market will bear . If that is still your job since 1989 who’s fault is that ?

The silent treatment , shit who cares my wife gives me that daily .I am stating the truth of the situation , as long as there is labor available to fill a position that is all it is worth . Supply and demand . Once an employer cannot hire his renumeration will increase . Whose fault is it if you value your labor so cheaply ?

A good case study of this phenomenum is in the States right now. There is help wanted everywhere. They are all offering signing bonuses, benefits and higher wages. This will likely end once the federal subsidies run out which has shrunk the pool of available employees But it is a clear demonstration of supply and demand.

I worked in a grocery warehouse job in 1989. Starting salary was $11.50 per hour. 30 years later, the starting salary for that same job was....drum roll...you guessed it...$11.50 per hour.

Now you tell me something isn't wrong here. And where did all of that money in saved wages go? Can you tell me?

I simply don't buy the scare tactic that the world would end if we brought the private sector up to the public sector levels. Reminds me of how the Left kept saying Harper had a 'hidden agenda'...when nothing could have been further from the truth.

When everyone has a good piece of the pie, crime goes down...racism goes down...etc. The 80's are a good example of this. And honestly, is there any need for anyone to become a billionaire off the backs of minimum wage employees?
Geesh, I worked part time going through school at an A&W and got raises on a regular basis. and that was a hell of a long time ago. So what happened to you?? All of a sudden, companies don't give raises? They don't if you don't deserve them you know??? Just sayin'
