Nope- I am a person who has empathy for others. Why do you think you have offended me?

Now I get it. Chubbybear gave me the clue. It explains how so many here seem free to post all day. It also explains why I see so much bad temper and emotion when I post something other people disagree with. I've blundered into a bunch of students. Work at it awhile and you'll discover that in most disciplines, especially in the humanities, questions have more than one right answer. University is teaching you the process, not the answers. Answers are interchangeable.

First off... "Chubbybear", LMAO. Secondly, if you finally got a clue, it must be lonely.

It explains how so many here seem free to post all day. It also explains why I see so much bad temper and emotion when I post something other people disagree with.
Oh, you think it's it's disagreement that garners you so much angst.

Nah, you're just a poser with poor people skills, who annoys people.
I've blundered into a bunch of students.
Oh, you've blundered alright, but not into a bunch of students.

Work at it awhile and you'll discover that in most disciplines, especially in the humanities, questions have more than one right answer.
Although feasibly true. You don't seem to get that yourself, lol.

University is teaching you the process, not the answers.
You missed that class eh.

Answers are interchangeable.
Not all.

...Manifest Destiny was the 19th Century reference to the idea that eventually all of North America would be part of the US.

It must suck to be so ignorant of history. The concept of Manifest Destiny had an origin long before the 19th century.

The Religious Origins of Manifest Destiny, Divining America, TeacherServe©, National Humanities Center

Back around 2005 a Republican spokesmen in the Bush Administration was asked if Manifest Destiny was dead in US view, and he said no.

Link or you're a liar.

Who put down the attempted Fenian invasion of Canada across the Niagara in 1866? British troops on the north side and American troops on the south side.

No real Canadians as defined by other true patriotic real Canadians.

You're just a dumb fukking troll and do not represent Canadians.. your hatred for the USA is more of a mental disease, or psychotic break.
as soon as the name calling and smearing starts you lose the argument Boom...I know you are a big fan of the States so just defend it.

Yes Sal, I do like the USA, but I am not going to tear down my country of birth defending the USA.

I have been lucky enough to spend 17 years of my life in the USA and the balance in Canada.. I was able to see a lot of the USA, it's culture and scenery. For that I am lucky.

But when all is said and done.... I AM CANADIAN!! ( and a horn-dog ) ;)

I won't be posting for a while, have staph infection in my arm, I'm in extreme pain.

Dude look after that, I had a severe infection in my ring finger while out in the bush this summer, I had to cut it out with a pocket knife.

There is often a lot of 'baiting' that goes on before the name calling starts and that needs to get addressed as well. Just saying.

A staph infection....boom you are not taking care of yourself...if you want an immune boost, take a sprinkle of baking soda in a glass of water everyday.... sorry you are under the weather.

I know but his was the first post I saw. :D

I hate when I come in here and it's thread after thread of nastiness and name calling.

I think any post that calls a name should be deleted, period.

It's not all about kumbya but we need to be respectful with each other. It bugs me.

People start to fall away and we loose more and more members. It's slays the forum. I got half way down a thread this morning and closed it.

people pull bad sh it to themselves like that ... it creeps me out even reading it

Yeah, I get that. I used to be like that a lot when I first joined. I had made a mental note to just ignore it, and I did, I just skimmed over posts like that. But then what really started jumping out at me was all the contrived arrogance in posts that irritated people to the extent that it prompted a lot of the 'name calling'. It was quite the eye opener.

yeah well, maybe it's just time for me to take a forum break...it's bad juju man, I don't care why people do it, it's bad for the mind, body and soul...and it pulls bad stuff to us...I guarantee it. Also if people manage to be nasty enough to drive everyone out that doesn't think like them, then it's forum death.

And the bell is beginning to ring...lol. :)

Happy Thanksgiving woman ♥

I think as I age I am getting too zen...lol.

I voted option 1 in the poll, but hesitantly. 'Conditionally' would have been a better option for me, though I would support union in principle.

Nah, I don't buy that. You just need more wine in your system, lol. It'll all seem rosy then, I promise. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. :D

You got to at least stick around post Thanksgiving. Hallowe'en is coming up and I need help picking out my costume! (If I leave it up to Bear it'll just be French Maid, French Maid, French Maid. LOL.)

I think as I age I am getting too zen...lol.
There is a tiger beneath the calm, I believe in her. You just got to find your inner sarcasm, then the whole shebang becomes quite the hoot!

The advantage of a merger, or at least a common citizenship and passport, would be a larger labour market which would be a big economic advantage to both sides. Culturally, it would make it easier for First Nations and people with friends and family members to cross the border, and save money on border guards. The benefits, both economic and cultural, would be significant.

A common military could save money too, assuming of course the US shrunk its military to be comparable to the Canadian one of course. It would save money on embassies, diplomats, etc. And a common currency would also reduce the overhead cost of money brokers. Those are just some of the potential benefits.
