Experts say cancelled Keystone XL pipeline expansion won’t lessen oil dependency

Without a pipeline to move bottlenecked bitumen from Canada to U.S. coastal refineries, they’ll be forced to import from countries like Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Russia, he said.

Oh, now it makes some sort of cents.

In his telegram, the King expressed his wishes for success to the elected president, wishing the American people further progress and prosperity.

How much has Alberta invested into Keystone.. stupid

A pipeline to Sarnia and Hamilton refineries that hand handle the bitman.. then sell the fuel to Ontario, Quebec that currently get oil and fuel for overseas.

Or to Cornwall and build a refinery there.

"TC Energy Corp. has brought another backer into its corner for the Keystone XL pipeline.

The Calgary-based company announced Tuesday it struck an agreement for Natural Law Energy (NLE) – an alliance of First Nations representing the traditional territories of Treaty No. 4, Treaty No. 6 and Treaty No. 7 – to invest up to $1 billion in the controversial pipeline that's been the subject of years of delays and regulatory uncertainty. TC Energy pointed out the investment is dependent on NLE securing financing.

It's the second significant equity partner that TC Energy has brought on board for Keystone XL after the province of Alberta signed up for a $1.5-billion investment in the project – plus a $6-billion loan guarantee – in March. And it's being announced despite a murky outlook for Keystone XL in light of U.S. President-elect Joe Biden's campaign pledge to block the project.

"Natural Law Energy has used the same blueprint our ancestors used when they negotiated the Treaties that governed working together to share the land,” said NLE CEO Travis Meguinis in a release."

Three Reasons Oil Will Continue to Run the World

Canada will continue to do what these fellers say...and that limits refining in Canada
( it's amazing how many people Don't ask me how I know what the price of oil is going to chart 6 months ahead for the last 15 years.)

Twin Moose Creek
I never knew they had an upgrader in Sarnia to handle bitumen.
That is supplied through Enbridge and yes they do as well as Suncor in Montreal, Erving was fitting their refinery to handle Bitumen when the cancellation was called thus the tankers going around the world to supply it from BC

TC Energy was going to convert their Line 2 NG line to Oil which deadheads in Montreal to the Energy East line. After Trudie got in power and the writing was on the wall for Energy East TC pulled their application to build.

Warren Buffet came along with the liquid gas proposal TC Energy signed a 10 year contract to supply the plant which made sense for Line 2 to be repurposed for again since it is already built they only had to build the short leg from the compressor plant in the North to supply it. Buffet pulls out over uncertainty TC left holding the bag again
