I like Crown Royal for the buzz.
That's really the only reason I ever drank any alcoholic beverage. To get high. Not necessarily drunk on my a$$ but just high enough to feel relaxed. Honestly I can't really stand the taste of any of that shyt. I do like lemonade so Marguertitas are pretty tasty especially with salt on the rim.

Canada's Crown Royal named World Whisky of the Year | Lifestyle from CTV News

Jim Murry, as popular as his books maybe, is not the end all of whiskey aficionados.

I completely disagree with his findings, especially when Midleton Dair Ghaelach comes in third to Pikesville, a hopped up version of a low end bourbon, in second. With Crown Royal, the crown jewel over Canadian swill.

If you're not going to mention Alberta Springs Black label...I'm not playing......

No "sippin' whiskeys" for you, then?

Whisky is not a favourite with me either. I prefer rum. The whisky I would take over that Crown Royal gutrot would be Jameson Signature Reserve, though.

Then you'd enjoy Midleton Dair Ghaelach more.

As for rums, ElDorado 25yo, is tops for a reasonable price.

Maybe. Our little hick town is a bit limited on selection, though.

It is a good rum. I like Appleton Estate Reserve (current fave), Saint Teresa, Mount Gay, Wild Geese Premium, Pyrat, and a few others, too.

All these good names on the booze making it sound like the hooch is suppose to taste good like a nice pie or something. Hold the nose and choke the shyt down after awhile you'll be blasted and you can take a break from the nasty stuff.

If you like Mount Gay, then Sailor Gerry's would be a shoo - in

So many thickwits posting here-they've never seen a bottle of Crown Royal let alone tasted one although they did once glimpse a Purple Velvet Bag their cousin kept her crayons in.

Myself I find most Rye a little 'hot' if that's the right term Brandy then Rum Rule @ Casa Barilko.

I don't get blasted. I enjoy the complexities of the products.

You're only one thickwit.

I figured you drank boat gas and I was correct.

I always have to hold my breath when forcing down that slop. I can tolerate tequila because I like lemons.

I too find Crown over-sweet beyond.....beyond. It's
like drinking hard candy. I'd take a Wisers Very Old
-Special Old over any whiskey if I was drinking
whiskey.

Love most Tequilas though!!! If you ever end up on
Cozumel, check out this place for an education:

The stuff could taste like paint thinner but with that name and bottle it has to be number one.
