Only to the good kids.Um, Does Santa ever write back?
Don't use purolator. It is owned by Canada Post. Their service is on par with the post office. My buddy has told all his suppliers anything sent by Purolator will be refused.I don't think they're getting a lot of public sympathy. It was a dick move to strike now. They have screwed a lot of small businesses with this purposely timed strike. Lots of folks are pissed. I use the postal service for my writing. For a year, I ran a monthly book draw and merchandise.
Canada Post probably got a couple of grand out of me just last year.
I will look at other alternatives as my new book approaches the finish line.
Always a catch.Only to the good kids.
Canada Post like all government bureaucracies is too top heavy but they all want to keep those jobs. Personally I can't believe they spent all that money changing the mailboxes.
My girlfriend spent 20 years with Canada Post. She says this:They've been how many years without a proper, keep up with the times, raise?
Yes the timing is horrible, but that's how the dice rolled this time.
They deserve what they're asking for, considering the shit they put up with.
The workers work like dogs. Especially the ones in the plants. There’s way way way way too many supervisors. It’s very management top heavy.Canada Post like all government bureaucracies is too top heavy but they all want to keep those jobs. If UPS & other couriers had 6-12 months to plan for a controlled growth, they might be able to replace the package division of Canada Post….but it is what it is.Absolutely they're top heavy.
That doesn't mean that what the workers do should be diminished or ignored. I mean considering now the backlog that UPS and other carriers are having, I'd say that shows just how valuable CP is with mail and that, again, the WORKERS deserve the raise.

It’s why Canada Post strikes at Christmas, & Teachers strike at the most inconvenient time for students, etc…
It’s a profitable government enterprise, so why not? Or is this one of those 2015-ish things?Or, you know, just keep using CP as they're doing now to help with the package flows?
In time to threaten for….Easter? The critical Easter mailing season? St Patrick’s Day? Pretty sure it wasn’t ‘cuz Remembrance Day happens in November. Is it? Or is it the workers got tired of the bullshit and after, again, 20ish years of getting nothing, striking in November - not Christmas -
Yep.- was their last option? That it's carrying on so long is on the "top heavy" bullshit managers, not on the workers.
I agree with their need for a raise. However, I strongly disagree with any government employee having the right to strike. Unless there is a private alternative to their services, they are essential services. Along that vein, there is no reason most government services must be run by government employees. They've been how many years without a proper, keep up with the times, raise?

The flip side, is a former brother-in-law, who collected a paycheque from Canada post most of his working life, was the poster child for every caricature of postal workers. My girlfriend spent 20 years with Canada Post. She says this:

There is a law that says no private Courier can deliver letters. This makes Postal workers essential services.
Quite a bit is not keeping up with the times lately. They've been how many years without a proper, keep up with the times, raise?
