That's a lot of jobs, and where's our Prime Minister? Hopefully out there looking for businesses to replace or at least invest in Canada. Morneau?

And bring about racial unity and close Gitmo and...

Hope and change baby.

The forum's Republican heroes refused to close Gitmo as we have discussed endlessly. As for racial unity, the murderous cops, the Tea Baggers, and other delusionals of the far right have caused more racial division than anyone else.

Republican hero Timothy McVeigh felt compelled to explode a government building because he felt government was too oppressive and that a body count was needed to stop the problem. Another Republican hero Eric Rudolph felt the same way, terrorized a few people, and was even protected from law enforcement. Therefore, none of the right wing delusionals have any valid complaint against BLM when it condemns government intrusionism. In fact right wingers should be applauding when the Black Panthers arm themselves and march in defiance of the cops. Notice how unlike BLM there was no violence when they did so.

Now that's real change!

But you knew that already and strongly applaud the armed Texas Black Panthers for their heroic and patriotic actions, right?

Yep, I never could figure out why so many of your kinfolk hate Obama so much. I've always found him to be an upbeat, positive guy. Of course there are scads of people around who HAVE to blame someone for every little thing that goes wrong- quite often things they cause themselves through laziness, neglect etc.

It is precisely because of his many successes that the delusional right wing America haters despise him so much. They are hell bent in their aim to destroy the USA so that's why they want a Reagan or a Bush I or Bush II in the White House. Their hatred for Obama is only a reflection of their hate for the USA and for themselves.

Uh oh... Gopher is awake and tripping.

earlier today on deercam, there was a gopher who scared away squirrels and a couple of deers and hogged up the food that had been put there by the attendants - very enterprising of him

too bad no cowardly eagle showed his face and dared to confront the enterprising and resourceful rodent

Those figures tell the true story you think? Lot of it might be seasonal. Every spring thousands of snow clearing jobs are lost, every January, thousands of Xmas tree cutting jobs are lost. How many fishing jobs are lost on a regular basis?

I believe Harper and the Conservatives saw the downturn coming. They realized that their government was long in the tooth and that Canadians wanted change. They knew Harper would take it on the chin from voters. The economic troubles could not be stopped in the short term, so in a back room the inner circle had a meeting. This was the result.

Let the Liberals drive for a while. Let Justin take the blame for the downturn, which would be exacerbated by Liberal spending habits. Time for Harper to retire, elect a new leader of the party, keep working on how to turn things around. Plan for another run at governing the country in a few years.

The media and Canadians suffer from notoriously short memories, and love to point fingers of blame. If the downturn lasts for another year or two, Justin will take it in the face and the media and Canadians will blame the Liberals for the state of the country.

That's how our politics have played out since the late 1970s. "Throw the bum out!" has been the rallying cry for many years. Rather than blaming the party's policies, Canadians and the media have been blaming the PM.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. What potholes will appear over the next two years. Who will be blamed. What Canadians will be saying. Etc.
