Sorry dude, just thought I'd explain my soon to be, absence.Sure, rub it in asshole.
That sounds like Bear.As heavily-armed U.S. and NATO troops enforce the peace in Bosnia, the press and politicians alike portray Western intervention in the former Yugoslavia as a noble, if agonizingly belated, response to an outbreak of ethnic massacres and human rights violations.
In the wake of the November 1995 Dayton peace accords, the West is eager to touch up its self-portrait as savior of the Southern Slavs and get on with "the work of rebuilding" the newly sovereign states. But following a pattern set early on, Western public opinion has been misled. The conventional wisdom holds that the plight of the Balkans is the outcome of an "aggressive nationalism", the inevitable result of deep-seated ethnic and religious tensions rooted in history. Likewise, commentators cite "Balkans power- plays" and the clash of political personalities to explain the conflicts.
Lost in the barrage of images and self-serving analyses are the economic and social causes of the conflict. The deep-seated economic crisis which preceded the civil war is long forgotten. The strategic interests of Germany and the U.S. in laying the groundwork for the disintegration of Yugoslavia go unmentioned, as does the role of external creditors and international financial institutions. In the eyes of the global media, Western powers bear no responsibility for the impoverishment and destruction of a nation of 24 million people.
LOL "opinion" . When you're proven wrong just pretend those actually aren't facts but "opinions" .. Not really a good strategy , better off just admitting you were wrong.
----------- Guy who thought Yugoslavia was a Soviet satellite but didn't realize ties were broken in 1948Ok, if it'll make you feel better, I was wrong.
There, feel better? Feel superior? Good boy, obviously the fact that you haven't learned a damn thing is less important to you than feeling you were right.
No it doesn't. The tone is wrong and I've never said anything like it.
Did you read that, like you watched your own video?Highly recommended reading.

We're already well aware of your penchant for anti Americanism, and how that blinds you to reality.
Sweet Jesus!!!
You're dangerously close to saying something, that could be construed as defending the US.
Oh, and you do realize that cubby loves fascist socialism. The old Soviet Russian, gives him wood.
Mainly Amerikkkka. No it doesn't. The tone is wrong and I've never said anything like it.
Who exactly is the west?
I don't know what this means, but it was a good and informative read.Did you read that, like you watched your own video?
What's your point?By 95, the conflict had been in full swing for several years.
Gonna have to read the link, don't be lazy. What strategic German and US interests are they talking about?
they cut ties completely with the Soviets.
Local flavour is always good. My kid who just moved to Halifax phoned the other night said she picked up a pt job working a baaaar. She is picking up the language pretty quickly.Maybe from Bawston and spellin' it with local flavour....
You're kidding, right? NOBODY could be so stupid as to honestly believe what you just posted. We're talking about Yugoslavia, the former Soviet satelite.
Another thing that got screwed up during Trudeau's watch. "Dominion Day" was a perfectly good name as we are a dominion and this is just another case of some a$$hole changing something for the sake of change. "Canada Day" in my mind just lacks any imagination. Anyone else with ideas?
To be fair, Yugoslavia wasn't a USSR satellite, Tito went his own way in regards to socialism/communism, belonging to the non-aligned states.
Eastern Block but not Iron Curtain I think is how it went.
Wow. At least somebody knows his (recent) history! Kudos Durka.
More like the founders of the 'non-aligned-movement'

But Happy Canada Day everyone. I was really in the middle of transforming the web site into a red-and-white scheme with the CC logo becoming a "Happy Canada Day" thing with the maple leaf and all until I heard some horrible news about a friend and I just stopped. Sorry guys. There's still an old Canada Day CC logo here.
