Obumbler is too busy vacationing, playing golf and getting his weekly instructions from Jeremiah Wright to deal with any Presidential issues. It it isn't broken call him in. He'll show you how to break it for real.

Perhaps you could do a better job! -:)

Don't be dumb.

Why not nuke Gaza? They nuked Japan and killed tens of thousands of innocent people. Everyone seems to love that idea. A lot of people argue that during that war civilian areas were legitimate targets. They could be helping the war effort. Total war, ya know. Our very existence was threatened. Those civilian deaths are on the Japanese leader's conscience, not ours. They bombed Pearl Harbour remember? The bomb stopped the war. Saved a lot of lives. Particularly the lives of our people, which are more valuable. So the argument goes, and does any of it sound familiar?

You're being extreme.

No one is calling for nukes in Gaza.

Calm down.

No, actually it does not.

The bombs saved hundreds of thousands of Allied lives, at the very least. They also saved millions of Japanese lives, as an amphibious invasion of Japan would have cost an unimaginable bllodbath. The Japanese people were being brainwashed to resist at all costs.

Ever hear of Saipan??

Mass Suicides on Marpi Point, Saipan - WW2 in HD and Color - YouTube

Now extrapolate that to a nation.

The people of Japan and Germany were part of the war machine...........they worked the factories that built the weapons, they supported the war both politically, and physically. That may not have been a good reason to destroy them wholesale, but it was a reason.

The people of Gaza are simply pawns. They do nothing to produce the weapons, they have nothing to do with it.

As well, there is no twisted equation........if we nuke this, we save nothing.....we just kill a lot of people.

I know you were tongue-in-cheek, but the analogy does not work on ANY level.

At the time (70 years ago) Hiroshima and Nagasaki were an absolute necessity, BUT if the world at large hasn't learned from that, we have to be pretty low on the intelligence scale among the animal kingdom! -:)

So... nuke Gaza?

Eventually, there is no other remedy for intransigent biligerants, of course there is presidence, and it will save lives of allies of the good. We need a Holly-Wooden blockbuster to soften the er ah blow. Maybe DR Phil can esplain it, Oprha could smooth it along, it's just one warhead, how bad could it be? That's how to do it on MTV,money for nothin death for free

It is often said we must do something drastic to frighten them actually that should not
be the center of our reaction. We should do something so terrible it frightens us that
is the horror they understand.
This is now international not an inner action anymore.
Normally I would say its not our problem but this is leading up to the same world
instability that preceded the second world war. We also have significant numbers of
our own Nationals returning home to fight with radicals over there.

The nukes were unnecessary. Japan was already bargain an ending but with conditions. It wasn't until after the bombings that they finally unconditionally surrendered.

Fire bombing broke their backs long before the nukes.

The whole Middle east needs a cleansing.

They take no one seriously.

Time to straighten them out like Japan was.

Bush carpet bombed Iraq and Afghanistan through his ''shock and awe'' blitzkrieg and said "mission accomplished". He also boasted of killing off the Taliban and making Iraq a bastion of democracy. Little good that campaign did, eh? Because the controlled right wing media white washed his crusade he won the reelection citing "political capital" which he boastfully said he would spend. But it sure as hell did nothing else.

Yeah, I guess it's pretty well impossible to get all the A$$holes, but even one or two fewer is an improvement!

except that today they are stronger than ever as their recruitment based widened thanks to international outrage over Bush's invasions and the continued occupation
