Can Justin Trudeau save the Liberal Party?

To get back to this thread, Justin said he wanted to spend more time with his children, which is fine. But if he's not going to devote everything he has to running a party now, he will probably not do it later, so I would say the Liberal Party will have to look for another saviour.

Just my idle thoughts on this long weekend.

Trudeau being Liberal leader would be more like the savior of the conservative party.

Possibly. I find it to be a little unfair to attach his fathers screw ups (or achievements for that matter) to him. He is not his father. In many ways he's nothing like his father.

Touche.

I went to see him speak once. He somehow made standing for nothing seem like the good thing to do. Afterwards I was a bit amused.
You know what, I may not agree with everything you say, but you carry a lot of credibility with me, just because you call'm like you see'm, you use critical thought and you're honest (The latter two being the most critical).

I really dig that!

I'm not to proud to admit when I'm wrong.

I was wrong.

And there's nothing wrong with being a lefty, so long as the traits I pointed out take precedent over the ideology.

Indeed. I cant stand the fanatics from any party. They tend to make any progress impossible.

Their shills make me defend people and policies I despise, if only to distance myself from the spectrum they crawl out from under.

JT reminds me of eating Chinese food: Feels good at the time but an hour later I'm hungry again.

Nothing wrong with being a lefty when you are young and inexperienced. Still being one when you are fifty indicates a problem with reality.

Besides which Bear and I and a few others are also fairly far left. We just got a better grip on economics.

I like what I've seen of Justin Trudeau. Seems straight forward and willing to speak out. The last thing this country needs is to develop a home grown royal lineage. You could end up with Martins in power, or Bushes, .. That would just be a level of entitlement that would go too far.

At this moment in time not even Jesus could save the Liberal Party. They have
become unhinged and it will last for some time. The Tories will soon be facing
their own set of problems by following the script of the Liberal Party.
Harpie now does what he wants, the party is becoming arrogant, they don't tell
the truth about the cost of things, they are starting to get used to the entitlements.
Need I say more.

He's thinking about it, but, as he said, he doesn't know if he can be a father and full-time PM, and, from what he's been saying, I'm not sure he can be.

If I were him, I would wait until Quebec is tired of the NDP.
