Good day Colpy oh come on, that is why many bright minds go abroad to get educated and come back to serve their country with the teaching about the world. Not everyone is an opportunist with the likes of Harper's.[/quite]
I fully agree, couldn't have said it better myself.
Yeah, and militarization made the US proud too. Pride is not necessarily a positiv thing, depending on how it's defined.
Not to any other person, perhaps, but to a certain ideology, perhaps.
No, Harper was no puppet to Bush. He was a puppet first to his own ideologies, and later to political power. I don't agree with Colpie when he tries to paint a negative image of Iggy having gone abroad per se. But I will agree with Colpie on the suspicious nature of Iggy's timing, circumstances for coming back to Canada, and that he really is a conservative at heart. A mini-Harper if you will.
I will say that he's got some positive points. Green shift, and so har has held back, for the most part, in attacking his opponent, mostly limit to reaction to cheap shots from the Conservatives. And his attempt at promoting unity in Canada. Though so far it's rhetoric. Has he presented any concrete plan on how to 'unite' Canada beyond just economically through assistance to the less fortunate members of our society? I don't think increased spending on EI will cut it. What we need is to reduce government spending so that we can reduce taxes, thus putting more money in taxpayers' pockets so that they can help their neighbours. When most of our money goes to taxes, there's not as much to give to worthy organizations. In that respect, high taxes is indirectly starving community organizations of funds they desperately need to help the less fortunate.
