It was taken over before it went out of business. BC was young, the interior just opening up and a crown corporation was the pragmatice solution as no private enterprise would have been willing to take the risk on the developing land called BC.

All development in the north, including the forest industry has been the fruit of government inducement or program.

Most business never builds anything in anticipation, but once profits are available, they're there like a dirty shirt. Kind of like the story of the Little Red Hen.In the case of community development, that's too late.

BC is the history model for successful government inducement and settlement, instant towns, etc.

But I'm sure not to idealogues who too soon forget the past.

Poor old Carole- seems to be digging herself into a bigger hole every time she opens her mouth. At least Gord seems to stick more to issues. He'll win because he's a little sharper- not any less corrupt.

P.G.E. Construction began in the early years of the 20th century & took forever just to reach Prince George- long before old WAC arrived on the scene. People used to joke that the initials meant "Prince George eventually" and after that milestone was reached it became "patience guts endurance"- for years it was getting wiped out about every 15 minutes by rock slides along Howe Sound.

I'd be looking for someone with a sensible walk. Someone running would be too anxious to win. Those type are truly frightening.

lol My wife runs almost everywhere, but she woon't go into politics. She's too sensible and honest.

Well that's just it, just about anyone who is honest AND INTELLIGENT wouldn't touch it with a 10' barge pole, it's virtually an impossible situation because the novices in politics do what they are told by the inner circle and the inner circle pretty well has the trough surrounded. It's sure starting to look interesting now that there is only a 3% gap, I don't think there's any doubt that Campbell has James beat hands down as far as competency is concerned but a lot of people will vote for her just out of spite and the very best she'll ever be is just a "defacto" Premier, no way she could handle it herself.
