In the bush near Sudbury
Dad worked for the CPR. The main line goes through Ottawa, North Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie. ... look at a map.

I live here - less than a kilometre from the track as a matter of fact....

It's now Ottawa Valley Railway from Romford Jct east through North Bay to its terminus just past Mattawa. The line to the Soo is now Huron Central and never was the CP main

The issue of secure energy is obvious. So long as eastern provinces rely on oil tankers they are at risk of suffering from any world oil crisis that could affect oversea's markets and oil tanker demand.when the tankers stop comin, Canadians should be helping other Canadians. That can't happen without pipelines.

Ottawa needs to realize that All Provinces need the capability of receiving Canadian oil. This is as vital as having a transcanada highway and a transcanada railway.

It's so lovely seeing conservatives suddenly become so considerate about environmental concerns.

Let's hope this continues!

Real conservatives have always been concerned about the environment. However we are not about to destroy the economy just because something bad might maybe happen someday. Or not. It is kind of like tidal waves. We preparing for the worst and hope for the best.

He should be ranting to TransCanada.

BC is where all the 'real conservatives' are then.

So, you figure that all of the trans-continental rail traffic jogs south, a few hundred miles out of the way just for the privilege of moving it through the GTA?

No Sonny. That doesn't happen.

"It's about time provinces start asking what's in it for Canada, not just what's in it for me."

Maybe the angle here is that each province should be taking on fully independent roles and make their assessmets as appropriate.

Don't approve of nuclear power?... A province can refuse to accept any products made by companies that have their power supplied by nukes and bar their transport via the highway system through your province.

The options are endless

Funny how the blow-hard ecotards thump their sunken chests on the subject but are the last to adopt any of the green initiatives available.

To call them hypocrites would be nothing other than insulting real hypocrites the world over

I've never seen conbots so scared.
It's called being pissed off.

If only they channelled their energy into something real, like global warming.
You mean like no longer importing oil from an oppressive, terror supporting regime? Oil that is shipped via tankers that get a whopping 3 meters to the gallon of bunker fuel. A fuel so nasty almost every country on the planet has banned it for use on land. Yeah, no surprise that as per usual the Liberals chose the worst course of action.
