Weird science versus the volcano

BBC News Magazine

Technology may appear impotent in the face of the volcanic ash cloud disrupting global air travel. So the Magazine has asked scientists for their most outlandish solutions. And we want yours too.

Legislation.... That's the key.

Pass laws prohibiting eruptions and fine any jurisdiction that has the impudence to defy the law.

What Causes Volcanoes - What causes Valcoanoes?

Volcanic Eruptions: What Causes Volcanoes to Erupt

Wind turbines over the hole ?....Geo Thermal?... Heat displacement?..Vents?

Big Drill like Spiral Cork Screw n Cap it ..? ...

If we can't prevent the eruption , perhaps we can use some of the energy from the heat...

Will there still be an eruption if the heat energy is displaced in some manner or another?

We might have better luck predicting or using the energy from Volcanoes rather than preventing them... As long as everything is taken into consideration 1st..Like the consequences of our action vs inaction ...Etc..But who knows...Shouldn't stop people from thinking about it ..Or trying ...Should it?

How about we try to think of ways to stop an oil well leak ...Anyone?... Sorry gotta keep on topic ...

Several large nukes or you could plant some crops down wind, volcanic ash is supposed to be good for plants as well as the 'slight' increase in CO2 should result in healthier plants. Iceland better charge other nations for those 'products' because their carbon-tax bill will be rather large if the eruption continues for any length of time. (if it ever gets passed)

If you could plug it how do you know it just wouldn't build up pressure and blow like a pressure cooker with no safety valve.

Oh, yeah, was there a reward being offered?
