OTTAWA - Two weeks of Conservative attack ads have done little to dim Justin Trudeau's honeymoon with Canadians, a new poll suggests.
The latest Canadian Press Harris-Decima survey suggests the Liberal party jumped into a seven-point lead over the Conservatives over the two weeks that followed Trudeau's landslide leadership victory last month.

You know I really don't care who's putting them out, what I'm sick and tired of is freaking election styled ads when there's no election.

I seem to recall that both Ignatief and Dion had all kinds of polls that 'suggested' they would form gvt.

Looks like this might just be the kiss of death for JT

Harper, is handing over Quebec to Trudeau on a silver plater.

Harper has no seats in Que..... Can't hand 'em over if he doesn't have them in the first place

I know, and that is frustrating. Nobody is looking forward to a two and a half year election campaign but that is likely what we'll have.

Seems like they never even stop at all sometimes. It really turns me off of the whole political process, because it leaves absolutely no time when people can be actually serious about politics. It's always about spin, spin, spin. Is it any wonder the loudmouth partisan rhetoric rules everything?

Damn, you know I do remember a time when you could have a decent political discussion. I don't think such a thing exists anymore.

Attack adds have been proven to work and politics always has been a blood sport.
Losing is for loosers.
Nobody likes attack ad's but the fact remains people have a reinforcement response right out of Skinner.
In other words, say enough bad things about somebody and deep down you may start to be influenced.

As to the Dauphin Trudeau and the Lib's I would suggest the Conservatives have learned pretty much all they know about Canadian political attack ad's from the Liberals.
Remember "Soldiers on the Streets", a true classic, not really up there with "Triumph of the Will" but still a pretty smoking ad.

Poll Canadians about their favorite political leader and party and Trudeau minor wins handily .
Poll Canadians about who would make the best PM and Harper wins handily.
Whatever.

2 1/2 more years of slow but steady incrementalism under Harpo and the gang and then we all get to make our will known.

A few posters have identified that little point of hypocritical consideration.... Funny how it was OK at one time and now it is magically verboten.

From what I've seen of the Conservative Ad campaign - they are pointing-out the facts as they relate to baby-t's experience... Hardly 'attacks' if what they are doing is identifying the facts as they relate to trudeau.

What this really says to me about the kick-back on the ad campaign is that those who (apparently) support trudeau are just not happy with the reality that his political resume is very incomplete... Taking out JT's deficiencies on the Cons is nothing more than a cop-out

Who has quebec? NDP

Unite Quebec and Ontario to vote Liberal=majority Liberal government..
All of Quebec will love the attack ad cause they will think. Oh look someone that
Thinks quebecers are better.

Instant votes for Trudeau.

Like I said. He is handing Quebec over to Trudeau on a silver plater.

I like attack ads. There's a certain honesty about them when you think about it.

I think I've said this before, but here it is again:

Attack ads are not meant to work immediately. It all takes time.

Plant the seed......Justin is in way over his head.

Justin is a Quebecois, and a believer in the superiority of Quebecois culture.

Justin is soft on terror.

Now sit back, and let Justin water the seeds by opening his mouth, and in doing so, confirming the accusations made..........

I don't have a crystal ball, but I would be VERY surprised if Justin is a contender in 2015.

To answer your question, no they aren't juan. They never do. Negativity gets you nowhere in my opinion. The old flies and honey thing. I gave up emailing my MP about the stupid ads the Cons are running - didn't do any good at all and just wasted my time.

At least Quebec has culture. The rest of Canada would have no culture if it wasn't for immigrants.

We are all immigrants, Cliffy.........if you go back far enough.

Taking time to work does not, IMO mean that they should be used, Colpy. You are right about everything else though.

Attack ads are for those who have nothing constructive to say. Only scum bags indulge in such practices.

There is evidence of at least 9000 years of occupation of the Arrow Lakes valley. I think that could be classified as not an immigrant, so I disagree that we are all immigrants. Those who have only been in Canada since 450 years ago can still be considered immigrants. In BC that would only go back about 200 years ago.

You are assuming that the NDP will meekly step aside for trudeau.

My bet is that the most vicious attack ads will be delivered by the NDP and specifically target Quebec.... Harper is likely looking to communicate with everyone outside Quebec with an emphasis on the West and Ontario.

At least Quebec has culture. The rest of Canada would have no culture if it wasn't for immigrants.

... The same immigrants that the Bloc (representing Que at the time) berated and accused them of losing the last referendum?

That's some Quebec culture that you're promoting.

just the other day you were all about native culture, there are quite a few native nations outside of Quebec........

I was more curious how long 'a culture' has to be here in order to be considered native.

Seems to me like it's a moving target

Yes he is. Without thinking of the consequence it will have in Quebec. Dumb move.
Just handed Quebec over to Libs.

I see this as a definit changing point in the political landscape,
And a major error by Harper.

Time will tell.
You Hurd it here first.

Whether Quebec is Liberal or NDP it matters not. If Harper holds every seat he has and Liberals sweep Quebec, all that means it goes back to the good old days where the NDP are in the corner and the Liberals are soaking up the grant money for being leaders of her majesties loyal opposition. Hell, the Bloc could come back and be that.

But 2 years is a long time. Plenty of feet for Justin to put in his mouth between now and then.
