You can be a Muslim atheist. If I had been born Muslim, I would have converted to the world's one true faith: the Church of England.

These include Jim Al-Khalili, the British physicist who presents his brilliant BBC documentaries; British author Salman Rushdie; and Barack Obama, Sr.

Al-Khalili has stated that, "as the son of a Protestant Christian mother and a Shia Muslim father, I have nevertheless ended up without a religious bone in my body".
Some Muslims have also converted to other religions. A notable example of that is the professional Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan, who converted to Buddhism.
Kenyan economist Barack Obama, Sr., was originally a Muslim but at rhe age of six he attended a Christian missionary school and the boy converted to Anglicanism when strongly encouraged by the staff. He changed his name from "Baraka" to the more Christian-sounding "Barack". He later became atheist.
Just as a sidenote, according to President Obama's grandmother, Sarah Onyango Obama, her husband Hussein Onyango was subjected to beatings and abuse by the British; it resulted in permanent physical disabilities and his loathing of the British. Research by David Maraniss, however, states that not only was Onyango not involved in the insurrections he was never imprisoned by the British during the uprising and remained a trusted individual among white Kenyans.
I hope President Barack is ashamed of his lying family. I doubt it though. I think President Barack himself has peddled those lies.
